Great drivers! Please....im sure there are good ones but I remember this women come on board from driving a school bus. She never shifted a day in her life. the first day they put her behind the wheel of a tandom axel tractor. International prostar...not an automatic. You can guess how she did.
There dispatch are cruel and get off on stranding you or getting you to take a load you lose money on. Because it's more money for them. Trust me it comes from the top down. In fact there about to lose volvo. -
I do really well with TM . Like any business it is what you make of it . Some Un Deckers make 3 k a week. . If you're drive away without a tow vehicle you're .70 cents to a dollar a mile and you pay taxis buses rental car planes etc . Successful contractors have a tow away vehicle and run out of a hub . Short trips that pay up to 1.30 a mile , then return home every day . If longer trips are offered like over nights then it's up to you as a contractor to negotiate extra money for the dead head . I hub , terminal to terminal with 3 or 4 way decks and do very well . Cab to terminal and checked bags are reimbursed , I just pay for the cab to the airport . They pay travel , air or rental car . Fuel is reimbursed on surcharge about 2.50 a gallon currently. .Side note , TM will hook you up with a 1500 dollar blue ox tow package custom to your vehicle and deduct it in payments . The escrow is 1500 and it's in case you damage a vehicle in transit

It's good money , 1 to 1.10 a mile depending on length of haul . You'll take three or four way trucks terminal to terminal and travel will be arranged for you when requested . They'll ask your ETA and when you want travel which is usually a plane ride into DFW then Laredo or San Antonio . Sometimes a rental car which they'll book and pay for , reimbursing gas and taxi from airport to terminal .Ten percent of each settlement till you teach about a 1500 dollar escrow and tools and 100 a month in workers comp insurance are your fixed expenses . After fuel which is surcharged and motel expect about .70 a mile gross profit

Hi there I'm a female trucker and Ironworker with the Ironworkers union and I'm going to work for TM after reading all the negativity here I felt discouraged after reading what you had to say I'm going to follow through I'm a hard worker and I make things work for me I'm an action person Thank you for the words

Oh forgot I'm also going to do decks
-
If you do decks you'll never be out of work . Helps if you can go into Canada , also . I know a deck driver who made a gross profit of 1 k in 17 hours with a deck plus Mack bonus out of Macungie . If you run hard they will keep you in the green . Like most other companies , effort equals reward here . If you use the tools they provide there is no reason you cannot make 500 a day , they provide fuel plans on all the NaviStar loads with prices , routes , etc . It's all about how smart you are , fuel low , run miles , a few extra miles a day saves a motel stay , but drive clean and comfortable . I like driving new equipment and showering and sleeping in a bed every night . I use an Expedia app for hotels . Take singles when they're offered , because they pay for the motel and cab on the back end . I ran a single out of Pacific , Wa where I delivered my deck , then took a single to Portland and made 170 dollars in three hours , used Expedia to book a nice room at the Ramada for 69 dollars ( normally 115) with a free shuttle to the airport . Keep in mind , every deadhead movement except for cab to terminal or rental cars they provide , will cost your bottom line . Itineraries are provided with cabs and cost to your air travel so you always know what it will cost up front . There is a Union shop in Macungie if you want to sign in with the Teamsters .
