Yup that's what it says. Who are you that I need to prove anything to? Want me to scan my DL report? I'm 27, been otr since I was 21. Got my class b when I was 17. Drove a straight job mostly dump truck till I was 18. Got my class a shortly after my birthday. Bought my first truck when I was 19 a 1977 transtar. Want a copy of the title? I pulled side dump and flatbed full time locally until I was 21, want my job reference? Frankly I don't give 2 sh*ts what you think of my Accredibility.

I worked for Taylor as well and EVERYTHING CPH and Never Late is spot on. I can tell you what happened to me but it seems the same things happened to them. Worst nightmare I've ever had with a company and wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. Run, don't walk away from Taylor as fast as you can.

I can honestly say.. BOTH of you are right in some ways ... I worked for Taylor ( Me in the office , hubby drove for them for 8 yrs).. I know ALOT about ALL divisions.. what it was like in 2006 and what it was like when I left in 2010.. In that 4 years I can tell you the good and the bad.. drivers, office and shop areas.. Back in 2006 it was a great company to work for and everything was in good shape.. then they added "George" and things when downhill.. they went from 150 trucks to over 300 in less than a year, it was all about numbers to him.. he said to me when he first came on.. 'drivers are a dime a dozen, it's the people in here that make the money' Didn't like him from then on, to me he was two-faced, says one thing to your face.. one thing behind your back (he came from Gainey Transportation).. I believe it's the drivers who make or break the company.. then the recession hit and everyone had to take paycuts.. and staff and drivers started to leave.. (the good ones left, well most all of them.. only had 5 drivers who had been there over 10 years when I left, most drivers only had 1-3 years there.. when I started they had over 20.)

If you dispatcher LIKES you and you kiss ### you will get treated very well .. On the heavy haul side there are a few who do kiss Matt's ###.. there are also a couple on the Pad Wrap who kiss it. regular Van, not very many. if they don't like you.. you get #### loads, and last to be loaded all the time. most of the them in dispatch have never driven a semi truck or even worked in transportation till they hired on.

There has also been a dispatcher (think she's still there) who would tell the driver to "unplug" his/her QUALCOMM before they HAD to run ELOGS.. (can't do that anymore) she didn't remember that the trailer was also being tracked and we could see a trailer moving and the truck "disappeared".. and YES>> SOME DISPATCHERS HAVE TOLD DRIVERS TO RUN OVER HOURS against the Safety dept knowledge... (I had several drivers tell me they were told to do it, esp when they ran paper logs, hence the compliance review and ELOGS in all trucks now.) Even now.. some runs are SOOO tight.. I still know a driver who is there.. and cheats on ELOGS.. it is possible to get more time.. this driver can get an extra hr every day and if they don't they can't do the dedicated run they are on! (yes.. I KNOW WHY THEY WERE FORCED TO PUT ELOGS IN THEIR TRUCKS)

I had seen the trucks and heard shop guys say things like 'just drive it like that, it still runs'.. had them tell a driver call ahead.. only to have the driver show up at scheduled time and have to wait for a day to get in.. then have the WRONG thing fixed.. if the shop guys like you and you kiss ### they will get you in right away.. (mostly if you are a "local hired guy") if they don't.. or you are just a newbie.. they take their time.. and don't fix everything all the time. my friend can tell you lots of time they had to call the safety dept (they, esp Todd, were great and treated drivers good, Ken was an ###, but only cuz George told him to be, heard Ken has now retired.) because the shop or dispatcher told them to drive a truck that was unsafe. I've also heard recruiters tell drivers whatever to get them in the door.. they don't care.. they have to have SO many numbers each month.. turn over was very little when I started.. when I left it was almost 100%.

MY take.. stay away if you are a GOOD driver with a good DAC and CSA score... you can do better than this company.. if you need experience, it's ok to start here.. but don't expect them to treat you like family, you are a number... and the owner is usually golfing and schmoozing clients or in FL at their house. hard to actually see him in the office (at least it was when I left)... and well he hired "George" to run the company and deal with drivers.. they are NOT as family orientated as before .. unless you have a car.. good luck trying to visit with the office people now.. they aren't located on the same site as the trucks and shop are. (keeps drivers from coming in). Watch your paychecks and know the laws on what you have to pay for and what they can charge you.. they will try to keep your money... I had them take money for fuel tax twice when hubby quit from his last check and from his escrow acct (owner operator).. good thing I was watching his settlements.. I got that money paid back to us.!!

There are no good companies anymore...just mob bosses with different logos :D
But I will say this about Taylor truck lines and I have seen some things that are different than most of your trucking companies..
Even though The Company does its best to get you home, Sometimes Appointments and Customers doing live unloads do take a huge hit on your home time..
Not to mention if you have young kids that are having birthday parties and rather see mom or dad be there than anyone else..Thats the choice we have to take in this career..so speaking as a father of 3 wonderful boys that god himself has blessed with...I try to tell them the reasons as to why im not going to be able to make it on time..but I do my best.

The Driver manager is probably the best one IVe worked with to be so young, so inexperienced in the trucking business..Ive worked with some Driver managers who have a huge head when they receive a manager title that even the most experienced truck drivers as driver managers or fleet managers act like their stuff don't stink...
Not once have I had the opportunity to actually talk to the broker, and when my driver manager doesn't know something? She will literally admit it..After all, we're all human..and with Taylor my driver manager will actually allow me to call the broker. when she doesn't know things like directions or phone numbers to customers..cause if im not rolling, we are both not getting paid. plain and simple..
She needs me to move it, and I need her to run the miles to get there..its how it works we're a team and not a boss and employee..and if anything Im the captain of the ship and she's just my GPS :D

But so far, the company seems to be on the up and up..maybe it was bad when CPH worked there...but I just got here..and came in with a Perfect CSA score and just got a level 3 random done on me...and they found nothing wrong.

you have to keep up with everything in trucking...mileage, fuel purchases, weights, your truck work orders, you on-time appointments and your hours.
and here's an old saying my grand daddy used to say to me when he was driving a Truck...
he used to say, Im allergic to freight..so everytime I get a load.. I just wanna run it off as quick as I can...so I can catch another..

Taylor has an old school feel with a new era attitude, so my suggestions to drivers who come to work for taylor..
Stay away from Truck stops...try to burn your hours off as hard as you can in driving and don't go socializing with disgruntled employees.
with that said in just 5 days of just driving Ive ran over 2900 miles with this company on elogs..and I still had another 14' hours on my clock..so if that don't tell you something..I don't know what will.

And to the ones who got the message of driving over your hours? why didn't you?!!!
If my company told me to run and don't worry about those stupid e-logs or if they showed me to unplug it and run off paper..you best assure Im going to run like a maniac till I get tired. or get caught... :D

If they didn't want you to run illegal, then why do they hand you two log books during orientation? o_O

and for the people who don't know too much about the Dry freight side? well, I run dry freight and so far I only run oatmeal, paper, wine, and more oatmeal..So apparently what im getting at is that Rob Taylor ((the owner)) is an Oatmeal loving man..never met him, but I can tell he is a man that loves his oatmeal in the morning, and he gets paid heavily to eat it too...and he loves reading his paper while eating oatmeal while drinking on his glass of wine.

So if you really wanna get down to it...Taylor Truck lines in my opinion is A-ok

and they'll the crap out of you if you let them, but if you don't...well youre just another person who likes venting at your local truck stop..

First, I'd like to say I had the same experience as cph did. Second, I would like to tell you that you have no business giving any advice to any drivers and I will tell you why. You said if a company wants to run you illegal with electronic logs, you should do it until you get caught. Really? First, if you get caught on the road doing it, huge fine, out of service and a BIG hit on your CSA. Also, if you do get away with it on the road, you might not get away with it when DOT does an audit on Taylor and find your logs. DOT has the ability to give you a ticket and the CSA hit after the fact so, not so good advice to give. Taylor already has a bad history with DOT and are on their radar.
Taylor Truck Line is the slime of slime, worst of the worst. With all the things written about them, including from office staff, you have to be insane to work for them. Then again, if you have no problem going over your hours with an electronic log, you just might deserve each other.

Well honestly think about it....the DOT comes down Twice as hard on the Safety rating on the company than it does on the Driver..So if Taylor wanted me to Run Illegal and they documented it on the Qualcomm message to do so...you dang right I will...cause I was simply doing what the Company told me to do..So if they fired me when I got caught in doing it...I would own some Trucks..
If they forced you over the phone? Guess what? don't do it...cause its based on heresay then...
But Ive gotten a few phone calls from trucking companies to do so over the phone and threatened to fire me if I didn't...and won a few cases over that cause they had to pay out a huge unemployment check in the end...According to Law, Employers can fire you with just cause...but when the employee files over the Termination..The employer must then show documentation towards the State of reason of Termination...So in words its a double standard..These Companies know were a dime of Dozen and We know Companies are too...So if I got a Ticket, big deal...but if I got a ticket on the companies part and its documented in forcement? its an even bigger deal...people be losing their jobs and rob could be losing a bank account..So yeah I ask this..if you were treated so badly..how come youre not owning the company?

It doesn't work like that. If a company tells you to drive illegal over the Qualcomm, you are required to say no. Just because a company tells you to do something, that does not relinquish your responsibility. Yes, the company gets hit but so does the driver.
