I have just stopped working for taylor truck line on the 4th of march so in the mean time they have held onto over 400.00 dollars of my money because i was not there for 120 days. they also told me they where giving me a new 2010 truck and did not, also after i went to orientation in minnesota they sent me back to tennessee where the other yard is and only paid me 100.00 dollars for going 1000 miles whem they should have paid me 350.00 dollars and when i got into the truck it was a pig pin and took almost 2 weeks to clean it up. then i was out 3-4 wks at a time and my father got sick 2 wks ago and i had already been out 4-wks and they got mad as hell about that.so some good advise don,t go to work for this company if you want to get home, and all they do is lie,and they have drivers quieting all the time.but one last note i did take my truck back to minnesota in a very clean condition and they wouldn,t even help me get back to nashville,tn.

I think they're required,by law, to get you back to your home state line.

About 10 yrs.ago, I called the US DOT because I had a driver in CA that I need to let go ASAP.

Herman Gyurke, regional director, US DOT, told me that I had 2 options: load him back to FL (our home state) or pay bus fare to the FL state line. I wasn't required to get him home or even his hometown, but the state line.

    That's been 10 yrs,& maybe it's changed.

Arrow got away with abandoning their drivers when they closed their doors at Christmas. I'm betting those drivers don't even know about this law.

Maybe you could, at least get travel money from Taylor. I would check with the US DOT.

They might be skating on thin ice. Rating = Conditional after Compliance Review in December 09. DriverSEA: 95+. I think you said a mouthful, Shobud, they seem to be a scary outfit.

I just left Taylor Truck Line after just two weeks. The majority of their trucks have between 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 miles on them and they are trashed. I spent $100 in cleaning supplies just to get mine livable. Almost none of their trucks can pass DOT and they seem fine with that. After I was there only 11 days, my truck started having problems. I had to wait to go to one of their two shops because going to a non-company shop is against company policy. Once I was in their shop, I was told to use a "loaner" truck. Like all their other trucks, it had 1.8 million miles on it and was a complete pit. The truck had all kinds of problems such as air leaks, air break test failures, exhaust leak, massive oil leak, top bunk half way ripped out of the wall hanging over the bottom bunk ready to fall, no AC/heater, just to name a few. I told them I could not drive this truck until it was repaired and then the threats started. I got calls from my dispatcher and their resident wannabe thug every hour saying the truck is fine and get to work. This went on for two days until I received a call from safety saying "your right, that truck is not compliant" and thanked me for doing a great job. At this point, I felt vindicated until the next day, I again revived another call from safety. They informed me that my services were no longer required and I was terminated. I asked why I was being fired and was told "many reasons, including refusing to drive the loaner truck". I then re-stated the mechanical problems the truck had and even told him that their own mechanic told me not to drive it. He then said that never happened and the truck was fine. I then said ok, fine, fire me. I then received another call from their resident thug, Ken Olson, that they will charge me for orientation and the cleaning of both trucks (mine and the loaner I did not drive), and no transportation home unless I signed a resignation form. I thought about and signed the resignation form. However, they decided they did not like my answer why I was "quitting" and to fill another form out. I did and was then taken away to the bus station. When I tried to get my ticket, I was told they did not pay the charge for an extra bag, which they said they would do. I called in, got their company thug again and was told "go outside and beg for the money". I thought this was a perfect ending to my employment with these thugs. Other issues here are being forced to drive over your hours WITH electronic logs and forcing you to drive that way staying up with no sleep for two days at a time. Looking back, I should have done what half of my orientation class did and left during orientation. That's right, half the class walked out before ever getting into a truck.

Yes, Taylor Truck Line from Northfield, and I wish it was B.S. but I had to live through it. Fortunately, however, I have a habit of taking pictures of things with this outstanding phone I have so I'll tell you what. Anyone who leaves an email address on this thread, I will send you some of the pictures I had taken during this experience. These pictures include both resignation forms I was forced to sign, oil leaks from the truck I was told to drive, and the top bunk that was pulled out of the mount, hanging down among others. 90% of their trucks are over one million miles, and are old Crete or C.R. England trucks from 2002-2005. Pictures do not lie and either do I and I have no problem, making them available to anyone who ask.

That's fine he can call me out all he wants. I have been here a while. After owning a truck for years this has been the best place to be. Yes, a lot of trucks are old. High mileage. But not one will fail a dot. They more then get the job done. Also the owner just shelled out a couple mill on new equipment... It's the cry baby brats that are lazy and want a brand spanking new truck that quit after a week. Just get in the truck and drive, do your job. I have a young family at home. My better half is a stay at home mom. I do just fine. And I'm home 4 days every 2 weeks. I have been doing this all my life. I came here started on the low end of the totem pole. I'm in a old Jb truck. I keep my mouth shut, do my Fing job. And get paid for what I do. Monday I climb into a brand new kw.

And as far as being told to run over your hours.... Come on man get real. You just pissed off cuz you didn't get your own way.
