Is that why the tractors are base plated in Oregon? I wondered why a NM company with their headquarters in Texas would base plate in Oregon of all places. Makes sense now..

I tried to get hired on after my cdl refresher but was told they only hired refreshers from THEIR school and when I got a year OTR in to give them a call. Yeah and take a paycut? No thanks.

I grew up in Las Cruces, NM and remember when the LC terminal was their home, now its just a drop yard for the local drivers and everything else is at the terminal on the east side of EPT. They used to have a nice daycab Pete 359 that ran trailers between El Paso and Las Cruces back in the day.

As for the racing, I think Royal pays for that himself. His hobby I guess you could say.

I drove for MVT and the Money Was Great.
    • Don't expect to get any bonus money, because they are creative in screwing you out of it.
    • Don't expect to get home when you need to. (I personally stayed out 3-4 weeks each trip)
    • Expect them to start calling you to leave early from your home time.
    • Expect to run a couple of log books....and pay $5 for each book & it's the only log sheets safety will accept. (They do give you 1 free a month)
    • Expect if you're not Mexican or fluent in Spanish to be looked at and treated like an ugly dog off the chain....until you get to the shipper or consignee, then you'll hear, "Hey we're surprised you're not a Mexican."
    • Expect them not to properly plan loads & then get you to run like a scalded dog to make what should be a impossible delivery.
    • Expect to live life, not sleeping.
    • Expect most loads will be lite
    • Expect to buy a couple of showers a week as the truck set-up helps getting INCREDIBLE MPG's & filling daily is a thing of the past! I'd get on avg. 1800+ miles before fills....CRAZY but TRUE!

When issued a truck, WRITE DOWN EVERY DEFECT inside & out of truck. (Scratches, drill holes, chips, EVERYTHING!) You'll see THEY document everything every time you go through safety....that's anytime you arrive at a terminal.

Other than that, hey they're a trucking company & you're truckin'.

Good luck, but I wouldn't EVER consider them unless I could have back my original FM, David...and that'd be a stretch! My last FM was Juan, and he literally was a huge, 400 pounder, POS. At 1st sight meeting him I thought "yea he's an ex-driver, he knows what it's like on my side of the dispatch....NOT!

What's with you folks & the racial undertones?...I highly doubt they were giving him his load assignments in spanish.Doesn't make sense to me because if licensed commercial drivers are required to read & write legibly in english, why would a company then turn around & use the spanish language as a means to communicate with their drivers.I seriously doubt they only hire "mexicans".

It wouldn't surprise me if all the money Halliburton made off with from the war in Iraq(those were tax dollars as well mind you) is now lining the pockets of George Bush & his side kick Dick Cheney,& all of their cronies as well.Come on folks, don't rag on the company just because their workforce is predominantly Hispanic...it shows a lot of ignorance on your part.

    A joke.....Right?

Funny thing is...If I made stupid statements like these and then was ignorant enough to tag my posts with 100% WHITE POWER, I would be labeled a "RACIST".

Racists are not all white in fact MOST racists are NOT white....Funny how the world has changed.

And just what does any of this have to do with MVT?

The racial undertones are there, you just choose not to see them.As for the xxxxxxxxx well that's just me saying that the truck I'm driving is being operated by a MEXICAN AMERICAN.You wouldn't know that unless you asked before rushing to conclusions(oh! But wait, you didn't ask & yes you did rush to conclusions).I'm not a racist sir & I respect everybody so long as they respect me.BTW....if you folks rag on Mesilla for being a predominantly Latino workforce, then you'd really hate to bump into one of their trucks I saw a couple months ago(it's just a regular International Prostar, except this one is all white with the Mexican flag covering it on both sides entirely).May you & your loved ones have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Why are you coming on here and starting with that racial crap?????
I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too. But that has nothing to do with your attempts to get a racial war going on the forum.

You know,I was asking myself the same thing when one of the members posted about how Mesilla was sponsoring race cars,& thus implying in his post how maybe some of that money just maybe might've come from grant monies given to them for running a "green fleet".My point was...instead of worrying about some trucking company sponsoring race cars with tax payer money, don't forget how the real thieves did it & nothing was ever done about it.

Wrong sir...I am in no way attempting to start racial divides(trust me I'm really not,& even if I was this would certainly not be a place where I would do it).I just don't like to read comments where a certain race is called out(I.E the "mexicans"),or when a member comes on & starts talking about how they bumped into a driver & he could barely even speak the language.Let's not forget that this country was founded by immigrants.I just don't take very well to comments of that nature.I used to drive for a company owned by a Caucasian couple(BTW...they were real nice folks),& one day as we're driving along one of my co-workers jumps on the radio & says(& I quote)"I'm sure glad we won't be driving side by side with the mexicans today & Victor don't get offended by what I just said, it's nothing against you".Needless to say me & that individual had some words, but never once did I feel threatened by his ignorance(physically or intellectually).I walked away from that company shortly after because I decided that I didn't want to run besides folks with that kind of mentality.Anyways this is totally off point from the thread so this'll be my last post about this subject. You folks take care of yourselfs out there & may you & your loved ones have a MERRY CHRISTMAS & a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
