That's not as bad as Millis. Millis has camera staring right at you, on the windshield. Comes on all the time.

Millis also has the microphone. One guy had his wife in his truck talking about smoking marijuana sometime soon.

Over the next 3 weeks the guy got pulled in for 5 drug tests.:biggrin_2551:

Veriha had the same thing. They claim it only comes on as an event recorder, but their safety people kept announcing that they were watching drivers.

New on the forum, happy to be here. Jumping into trucking after taming the Shenanigans on Big Brown@Ups or should I say UPS Pro-Nounced (Oops).

If that statement on privacy is true about MVT that is some serious stuFF! I thought I had my mind up to go with either Knight or Prime. Researched a bunch about both outfits along with Primes Flatbed,Reefer n Tanker divisions. Then spoke with an in law currently employed for MVT, researched a bit more about them and seemed decent. Being in the LC-EP neck of the woods, seems a whole lot more feasible than having a home terminal in Utah/Misery. Then came across the whole Benefits loophole they're runnin.....Pretty important thing to my family ,considering my wife is disabled and we have got lil ones. Home times really important too.
    Important newbie ?s:

Is the Cpm 42 for all drivers or just certain divisions at MVT?
Is the benefits loophole really that heavy?
How does MVT stack up against Prime & Knight?

I like that Prime will cover bus ticket to training 3 meals a day, room n board, paid training and guaranteed pay and benefits. Knight seemed pretty great too but not as good as Prime does?

Im a newb in trucking but not driving. Just need some honest insight from you seasoned drivers and any ex or current drivers of any of the outfits i mentioned. Would really help me help my family out.

Is prime the Golden ticket for Newbs...? Im starting to think it is. IMHO

Thanks all and safe travels yall.

I just had the most ridiculous conversation with a recruiter since I joined the trucking industry in 2012. I'm considering going back to company driver, although I still own my truck, so I made a call on a dedicated regional position with MVT listed in my area.

The recruiter I spoke to informed me that in order to be hired for work out of a terminal that is less than 12 miles from my front door, I would have to move and get my driver's license from a different state!

How is this possible you ask? Very simple, the brainiacs in this company will not accept a driver with a Washington CDL who lives just across the border from Portland, Oregon. I am literally so close to their terminal, I could get in my car and drive (even in traffic) and get there in less than 30 minutes!!

In all seriousness, this recruiter told me in order to apply, I would need to move to Oregon and change my license!! The idea was so ridiculous. I actually reached out to their HR to get verification. I was told their insurance wouldn't allow them to hire a driver with a Washington CDL.

Having spent many years in the insurance industry before getting my CDL, I can say with certainty that an insurance company doesn't care two hoots from hell what state issues a driver's CDL. They care about the driving record, and possibly the background check.

If this is any indication of the level of common sense found in management, I recommend a hard pass, no matter what your home state is.
