:biggrin_25513:Look out for these guys if you are looking for a dry bulk job. These folks seemed to be great at first but once I got thru their training period, things went down hill. Promised that $1000 aweek was not an issue. I have been here almost 3 months and haven't broke $925 yet. with most checks being $600 to $750. There is alot of favoritism that goes on in the dispatch with 4-5 drivers. I was told I would have to go thru 2 weeks more training to haul plastic and that would be coming soon, NOT.
And just so I am not misunderstood here, I am 48, 15 years driving experience with tanks liquid and dry bulk, one 1 accident and no other violations.
So I am not a newbie to trucking, but this is about the worst company I have worked for. Just moved to Texas, so maybe I am not use to how they do it here, and I thought Louisiana was bad.
QUESTION: Is it to much to ask for a company to be up front with the working conditions and the pay? Here we go, thought I had found a company to retire with and they start this kind of BS.
    :Straight road:

Sorry for your bad experience. I have been with Bulkmatic in Decatur Alabama for almost 3 years. My experience has been much different. My w-2's show that I have made over 54000 each year, and I never volunteer for weekend work, although sometimes it is mandatory. I could be geographic differences or perhaps different customer bases. I hope things get better for you.

I hope so too, really thought I had found a good company to work for in the Ft. Worth area. I went thru the week of training at the main office and had nothing but good things to say, had a guy from the Houston office really talking it up about making good money every day, but that just has not been the case here. I have had one load days, working for 3-4 hrs, with mainly 2 load days being out 6-8 hrs. I get an ocassional regional run (which we have 6-9 of them aday) 1 to 2 a week, but that is it. Most days I start around 4-5 and home by lunch are just after, that is great working but the money ins't there. I keep thinking I will get a third load but never do. If you come into the mill and a load is up you can pickup an extra $16 by loading a trailer, but you can't bepend on that because everyone does it.

And the annual pay that you mentioned is just what I was told I could make and not work weekends, but $600 & $700 weekly paychecks don't add up to that. Man I really don't know what to think right now just talking to the wife and trying to ride it thru, hoping for the best.:biggrin_25524:

Bulkmatic definitely is a horse of a different color. I do get home every night, though, and that's worth it to me.

Last year was a tough year for me, but, I make due. Let dispatch know you want to work and I'm sure they'll find it for you.

Yep, I know what you mean about a hard year last year we had one ourself. I already tried the "you need to work me more" thing, guess I will try again. Hows you guys equipment where you work? We have a couple of newer model macks, but most everything else has alot of miles, the truck I drive is a 2001 with 890,000 miles. The truck is a good old truck, just has alot of blowby, fillup with fuel and pour in a gallon of oil. LOL.

Sounds like the terminal where I run out of. We've got about 10 '07 or '08 Macks and the rest is older. My current truck is a '99 CH613 with just over 670,000. But, it runs like a top, thanks to the mechanics at the terminal.

From what corporate's said, they've gotten 23 used trucks and are looking to add some more trucks to the fleet later on this year.
