    magnum. the truth

i drove for magnum 2 times in my career and neither one was good. i never recieved more than 1800 miles a week ever, so if you gonna make money, this is not the way to do it. also, they give you runs that give way too much time. I had numerous loads under 700 miles and they would give you 3.5 to 4 days to get there, this is one reason you will not get miles.

i know monte is not a dispatcher anymore there, but in my time with him, he always wanted you to drive over hours. I came back from a load from oregon, and stopped over in montana then back to fargo, i only had 3 hours to drive but monte gave me a run to minneapolis with 4 stops to completely load, so another 7 hours plus loading times. if i did not take it he was going to make me wait for 3.5 days to get a reload with no layover pay at all.

so you make your choice with this company. the miles are not there but if you like to sit at home and not make money then i highly suggest this company for you. a little under a year driving for them i made less than 30k that year. you will never get your bonus for 10k a month. i never complained nor whined except when i wanted to roll and get miles in. yes, the equipment they have is nice, but does not off set the amount of money you will make with them.

chad is a great dispatcher in blaine mn, but he cant get you miles when there is none to get. a friend of mine also quit for the same reasons, no miles. you will be lucky to get 1500 a week, so do the math before signing on with them. if you are lazy and love to sit in truck stops and shoot the breeze, then it is a place for you.

I saw a craigslist ad today saying 2500 miles week out of Blaine,MN. I was wondering if they were the real deal.

no, you wont see much of 2500 miles. i was told both time while i was there. like i said , monte is gone now and if you get out of blaine and chad is still there, he is good dispatcher. but 2500??? dont think so. i had to fight with them to get that. like i said, they give you too much time for a run and yes, they have good home time, so tit for tat i guess. i never got along with monte at all, he was awful dispatcher and now he is gone so...you can give them a try. leight is good guy but does not really tell you all of the things, if he did, he would lose drivers coming in. so like i said, they got good equipment to run, you will be home, but no miles. trust me, they blowing smoke. the senior drivers may get that but not regular.

u have to start somewhere and normally they are the bottom of the barrel companies but they are better than swift and schneider and werner. i am saying that they are not the best at all , monte i know is gone, but 2500 miles? no. you wanna be home a lot? then yes. all companies have good and bad. i want to drive not sit at home, so not a company for me. ya aint makin money if the wheels are not turnin

Sorry but you're talkin out of both sides of your pie hole, in one sentence your saying you can't get any miles but in the nest one your talkin about a dispatcher asking you to run over your book or else. WOW!!! get your story straight.
