| Re: Saved from England I agree whole heartedly with Tip, I'm going with Werner myself, however I'll be getting my Class A before I actually become a "student driver" with them. I'm being told in another forum that if you do decide Werner, that you DO NOT have to unload/load the trailer as you DO NOT get paid for this. There's some knuckle head trainers out there who just want to reap in as much extra as they can from us newbies. Thanks to the posts on this forum I'll have one up on them. Good luck to you, and if Schneider was an option out of MTC I'd choose them over Werner, but since they're not...... |

| Re: Saved from England Thank's PortlandDriver, IdahoGhost, Tip, and of course Newest Driver, for the very welcomed advice. Schneider, Crete, and Werner will stay on my shortlist. I had to sadly remove Roehl because they are not hiring in my area. As it turns out, I answered a add for a local bulk fuels carrier today. I had the fortune to talk to the dispatcher who was a real gentleman. He advised me to come in on Monday and apply for work. He also gave me a heads up on what would take place. Fill out the ap., take a written test, do a pre-check, take a test drive, and if all went well, give a blood test, all in one day So I will spend the weekend reading, and refreshing my memory banks. The biggest downside is providing proof of one year experience. The man that I worked for passed away from cancer. It was all local work, and off the books. The dispatcher seemed to think that I might be able to submit letters from the stops that I visited, and dropped at. I quess Monday will tell, I still have my short list, if I don't check out. | Re: Saved from England That's very true, I know that I would be alot happier local. The problem is the verifiable experience, and the fact that the local will have alot of guys applying for those positions. The local is a great company Mystic Bulk Carriers. The long haul is a sure thing, willing to start me right away. I'm thinking that if I put him off too long, the offer will slip away. |

| Stay away from CR England. I just filied a lawsuit today against them myself. I went to orientation there last year 8/05. I tested positive for a controlled substance, a valid perscription i had and they verified. I chose not to work there as while they were verifying the script i was placed in a holding room with an armed guard. and now they are again reporting the drug test as a positive after i forced them to change it in Febuary of this year. The only thing this company is concerned with is money. Stay Away! |

At least around here they don't them gas haulers around here work their tales off for little money. When I drove for a tanker company a couple years ago we were hauling gas also. But the refinery cut the rate on it, and our owner told them we were not hauling it for that price. He even went as far as to sale the gas tankers we had. ![]() Anyway good luck and be careful out there! |

| Re: Saved from England slip looks like you have got some good advice about truckin cos.here.If I were you I would stay away from the lease purchase programs.If you want to be an O/O.Buy a truck from a dealer and lease it on with a good company.Buying a truck isnt as difficult as you might think.Under the lease purchase program,you are at the mercy of the company you are dealing with.You are not truly the owner of the truck and you cannot move it to a better carrier.If you own it you can move it anywhere you want to,and you will usually have more leverage in getting better loads,etc. |

| To all who might consider CR England for a driving job, consider what I am telling you in this thread. When I signed on with CRE in 2004, things were great. I actually did a lease completion which was 13 months and that was finished Jan 2006. When I turned in the truck, I was told they would process old lease truck in about a month and all would be well. It took them 2 months and when done they created a bill nearly $3000 and would not provide me with any receipts for repair work done. This put me in the hole but I had a truck under warranty so I thot all would be well. It wasnt. In July 2006 I was given a level 3 dot in Nebraska and I thot all was well. I found out my CDL was suspended and was put out of service. I was broke and was told I could use my maintenance acount to pay old ticket and get rolling again as it was just under $300 I needed. I was told they wont let me do that so I was stranded. They sent another driver after the load so all I was then was a bobtail. I hired another driver to get me as far as possible towards home of Oregon and he said he would go no farther than Idaho so we went to Idaho. While in Idaho trying to figure out what more I could do, ISP found an old warrant that is still valid and I went to jail. While in jail CRE pulled the lease, came and got the truck and returned it to Salt Lake City, UT. I made a special trip to Salt Lake City to get my personal belongings at a great expense which I did not have. When I got there, the truck was cleaned out completely. It took 2 days but I finally found out the recovery driver threw everything out. EVERYTHING!!! The only thing I had left to my name is the clothes on my back, literally. Well, you can rest assured, I am going to pursue this thru legal channels as the recovery driver had no right to throw anything away that wasnt truly garbage which there was very little of. Remember if you are considering CR England, they will drop you like a rock where ever and dont care about you nor your belongings and you are left to swim on your own. |
