you should never idle over 15%. You are stealing from the company and have no respect for their equipment if you do this.

It doesnt matter how cold it is, figure it out.

And what happens when the fuel gels up because you don't idle when you're sitting in below 0 temps for hours?

Know this thread is very old, but worked for airride for 6 and half years. Was one of the problem solving "srandby ". They were underhanded, yes! But to clean up others mistakes, they had no problem throwing money at it! Was running yard in Coventry RI, getting off about 6am get phone call (susan) needing a favor (huge) . We had undersranding favor means $500. She uses favor 3 times! Ok we are up to 1500 what you need? Team run from Charlotte to Toledo and back! Pull time 5 pm out of Charlotte! .think it allowed 7 hours each way. Starring from RI at. 42 cpm plus bonus. Get back next afternoon and they need another favor, so back to RI! So from fri morning to sun night I made 2500 in bonus plus the milage! Burnt out on it! Last week I worked they docked my pay 1900 and still toke home over 1000 . Was younger then and know it was not correct, but you gave me a 120 mph truck and boat load of cash to make it happen! No sleep for 4 days. For almost a grand a day.

I ran with air-ride for 7 years myself and what you say brings back memories. Susan was always good at throwing money at me for favors. I was able to make a run special just for me just because I knew how to stroll... for 18 straight hours... Then there was this lady Pat who couldn't tell anybody their T.O.# if her life depended on it.. how i loved screaming at her on the Nextel... Air-Ride wasn't for everybody, but if you knew how to play the game, it was fun. Cool to see this old thread about a company I had fun with. I'm bringing it up to see if there are any other ex air-ride drivers on here, especially those of us who were on Bax.

Worked for Air Ride and Bax had the Atlanta to Cargo City Pa run. They would try to contact us sometimes to go from Philly to JFK Newark back to cargo city. Learned real fast not to answer phone or qualcom. Need a couple hundred for tolls, they wouldn't pay extra and wouldn't contact you till 4am when run was supposed to leave at midnight. Was a nightmare if you leave at four traffic all the way and behind on run the rest of the way. Glad to hear they are gone. Loved working with BAX though brought cigs up from ga got in and out so fast always had less than 10,000 in the box normal if you run LTL freight though. Did Atl to Miami always came out empty even with flatbeds have to charge on the way down. Love south fl the NEast don't miss just the food which is in Miami.
