I must say my husband did enjoy the classes. He does have a CDL and he refuses to allow his experience at STEVENS to affect how he views people or their word. Thank God! Dispite how I feel about Stevens I have a high respect for a mans word. It gives an accurate understanding of their worth. Stevens just needs open and honest communication and all will be better. I do not hate this company. I do feel they have a weak understanding of customer service and organization. They are grossly misinformed on the care and keeping of people.

I wish I would have seen this option for my MR a few months ago. I will tell everyone I come in contact with that asks me about trucking. Thanks!

So you say that typically all truckers wives sit at home on there behind barefoot and pregnant huh? You must really think you are the cats meow all high and mighty high falluten better than everyone else.

So your saying that he cant read? He must not be able to because Stevens sends you a settlement sheet showing every cent made and anything that comes out of it. Its available on the QC in the truck, on line at the website and if all else fails it can be emailed to you.

must of flunked out of grammar and got all F's on every paper you handed in... learn to use paragraphs. Makes it easier to read, and comprehend what you are saying.

Ladmoffitt(phone won't let me see name when posting so prob wrong)

I must say, that post was horrid. Your husband will be very upset that 300% effort was not put in it. The degree you received in leisurely studies deserves a refund.

I am sorry it did not work for him. I too am going to be joining a company by way of contract. The post confused me. Did he put in his two weeks right after training? Time with trainer was complete? Was he solo and just had to many problems with his truck? As a wannabe I am curious about peoples personal stories.

Don't know where you came up with all this pent-up anger, but Stevens didn't do ANYTHING to deserve it. Your husband broke his CONTRACT with Stevens and they have every right to pursue the collection of their money!! When your husband went to school, he signed a legally binding contract to work for the company for at least 1 year to begin paying back his loan, he left before his contract was fulfilled, it was then up to him to begin paying back the loan on his own. It is outlined during your last few days of classes how much will be taken out of your paycheck on a weekly basis for the repayment, how much you will repay during the year, and how much you will owe at the end of your contract. Your husband should have started making his payments instead of 'beating around the bush' and making calls, HE ALREADY KNEW HOW MUCH TO PAY!!
And the remark about 'typical trucker's wives' shows how prejudiced you are. I am a trucker's wife & a trucker as well, my husband and I drive as a team. As a trucker's wife I have had the opportunity to meet and talk with other wives on the road and off, and let me tell you, trucker's wives are all different, just like anyone else in society. And a large percentage of us are 'college-educated' just like you!!
I think it's time you come off your 'high horse', realize that the problems that your family has had with Stevens is due to lack of completion of your end of the bargain, and let it drop.

Couldn't have said it better. When the husband decided to quit he knew his obligations would come due in full. Maybe he should have told his wife the whole truth. I hope she now realizes that her temper is aimed at the wrong people and she should look to the person sitting at the dinner table with her.
