I know right, search the boards and you'll see people complaining all over about HOS and that they'd rather take lower cpm and run more miles. I am just like WTF these people have to be joking or high on something.

Do proper research and go to companies like Prime, Roehl, Millis, etc that all start high 30's low 40's for newbies. or just go straight local for $20+ an hour.

Stevens pay is a joke and behind the times, I can see otr companies like the 3 I mentioned leading the way for what is the standard in the future. Rotational schedules(7/7,7/14,30/7,30/14, etc) high CPM, percentage, or hourly, and low turnover and that's why they'll end up with all the good, safe drivers(because people will stay and not leave) and these low paying sweatshops like stevens, swift, werner, etc will get the crumbs.

They offer that to everyone fresh out of CDL school? Because if not those other companies are paying their rookies better Stevens is paying its veterans. You may want to look around for a better company to work for.

New pay scale for starting out is .28cpm after 6mo. .30cpm after 9mo. 31cpm. after 1yr. .32cpm. then .01cpm every yr. Not bad.

No man, that is still low wage.

Let's just say we run 2,500 miles a week on average.

    Company A .28 a mile and Company B pays .36 a mile

    Company A = $700 a week or $33,600 per year

    Company B = $900 a week or $43,200 per year

That's $9,600 more per year, you would be earning. This is assuming however that you work all year and never go home all year, so real number will be much lower, which is why all companies need to start paying much more than what they currently are, but that's a different topic.

You really need to run the numbers before you just accept a companies offer. Unless you're self employed, you're the prostitute and the company is the pimp. You need to evaluate your self-worth and only except high paying clients as a high class escort or be like a cheap hooker in back alleys of Detroit just scrounging for a little drug & booze money. Take your pick.

who is going to pay 36 cpm with no experience wow. Maybe regional with a lot of stops and few miles. I prefer all 48 states, miles, reliable, and clean equipment. Money isnt everything. I work for a auto mfg. and make $25.00 an hour doing production maintenance $75,000,00 2014 but com summer i will go back to driving for someone. Id rather have the freedom, and see the country.

Also here's what Maverick offers straight from their brochure

$500 a week minimum during finishing school

    .33-.40 starting depending on division

    .03/mile raise after 3 months

up to .05/mile additional after 6 months and yearly increases for 5 years

    $400 bonus after going solo

$400 upon leaving home with first dispatch

I am telling you these others companies SMASH Stevens and they're going to have to do a lot better than a measly .02 raise after 10 years
