Yea but the moral of the story is greed and corruption at the exspense of an employee which is the trainee i assume for only getting .14cpm. my angle was should the trainee get paid regular pay and the trainer not make any more for training his student? the trainers getting paid more by taking more cents from his student.

Not many miles? That is just not true for most these companies. Maybe for stevens, prime, sneider, swift, jb.

No the pay is understandable for the trainee. .14cpm at those miles is a lot more than stevens pay a week at least. What I'm getting at is y are they cutting miles for solos and only give all the miles to trainers. What if that solo don't have the guts to be a trainer? Does he have to suffer not getting any miles. That is what he means companies benefitting at a lower expense. They wouldve have to pay more to give those miles to a solo or regular teams

I tried my hardest to make it there,I have been through so much ,I stated the job after hurricane ike took my island, once i was in my finances slowly started disappearing, to the point where i lost my house.
I had planned taking my wife on the truck with me ,soon as the papers were
ready for her to sign, they find a 13 yr old ticket on me (TRAFFIC) no big deal
i thought, I would just go tell the judge i forgot and be on with it,
well i seen the judge and he gave me 10 days in jail, meanwhile my wife is staying with a friend, now im out of jail and stevens is telling me that to much time has gone by and that i will have to retrain! the whole thing over again.
and not only that ,but the next orientation that they could possibly squeeze me in at is sometime in august!!! well now im hitchhicking back to houston to see my wife only to find out the friend she is staying with, doesnt want me there,(but thats no big suprise to me she never liked me),any way so now me and my wife are going to live in a tent out side of Houston,tx yeah you heard me right Stevens has really screwed me over ,I
begged and pleaded for them to work with me on this but they said there hands are tied.Well my wife does not like the idea of living in a tent, but we have to do what we can until i find a REAL JOB!! You know we really arent the type of people to do this sort of thing either, we are just trying to deal with it the best way we can,and maybe Stevens would of worked out,but I wonder why that ticket did not show up through the whole training period, the very day i graduated is when hey told me about the ticket,if only i would if known sooner , i would of never went to Driving school..i will keep you updated.. till next time.....

Well that's just great. You didn't bother to take care of your ticket for 13 years and Stevens screwed u over. That's just asinine.
Where you guys getting those illusions that Stevens is some kind of charity that is there to help people out?
I'm sorry for your hardship but that's not Stevens fault.
I think they realized, that person, who doesn't care to resolve his traffic violation for 13 years isn't a good candidate 2 b a professional driver. And I agree with them.

Now wait a minute. I re-readed it again. Are u saying that u went to jail AFTER u graduated? Something doesn't add up here.
What graduation are u talking about? 1st one, 2nd one or 3rd one?
After 3rd one u are on regular fleet. U are not a student anymore and you wouldn't need 2 go through the whole re-training process.

My truck is governed @62. I don't give a **** that I can't pass any1. Why should I??? I'm running 58 almost all the time anyway to save fuel. My average MPG is 7.3. I was talking with other drivers with ungoverned trucks that were passing me doing 80 what is their mpg. They said around 4.5.
Why should I keep it hammered down when if I arrive earlier I won't get loaded or unloaded ahead of time anyway (most of the time)? I have to pay for my fuel. The less fuel I use, the more money stays in my pocket.

Hey man cut the guy some slack. He's lost everything from the storm. Anyone would be testy looking for sdomeone to blame. I'm sure if u were put in the same situation as he was u'd do the exact same #### thing. Its just a natural human instinct to blame someone during extremely tough times.

Now I do have some ideas for u. Try applying to other companies. There isn't just one trucking company out there. With the economy down hardly any companies are hiring. So just look around out there other than just stevens.

Yea its totally ###### up that insurance companies are in charge of ur health instead of the doctor. This health care system in the US is worthless.

my point was that they new about the ticket when they hired me ,but did not inform me until i graduated, and yes unfortunately i did forget about my ticket, i got it when i was visiting my mom, and i never got anything in the mail ,so it just slipped on the back burner and then forgotten, but like i said hey hew about it, and pre planned to tell on my grad date almost 5 mnths later, had they have told me about it in the beginning i would have been in a better position to pay it off, but they waited till they were done with me..

thanks for the back up dude!,i am not usually a negative person, really i just had a bad year, thanks for your support

i graduated the grad 3 and was told that i was fleet,so go figure...

thanks dude! sorry to here about your back, i will tell my church to put you on our prayer list
