im in the same town as papa johns trans. they got new red penske lease volvos sleeper. they look like tiny sleepers. they are new tho. they are always hiring on the job boards around here. one source told me they make like 1600 a week. cant say if its true or not. ive thought about going over there a few times but the whole team thing and trying to sleep when someones driving and trying to sleep when ur ptrolly full of sweat and dirty is not for me. half of these pap johns are in tiny strip mall or just some small ramdom building so blocking the entire parking lot is what u have to do. espically in nj ny ct area. from what i heard they fired a lot of drivers for stealing cases of chicken wings

    What’s on the Menu:

    • Transport product from commissary to appropriate location in a safe and timely manner.
    • Load and unload product in a safe and proper manner, with or without assistance from individuals or freight handling equipment, to ensure minimal risk of damage to cargo and Papa John’s restaurants.
    • Secure all shipments by tying down or bracing cargo (i.e. load locks) within the trailer as required.
    • Inspect the tractor and trailer for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Submit a required report documenting the condition of the equipment at the beginning and at the end of the trip.
    • Reconcile shipping paperwork (invoices) and load sheets to determine if the load on the trailer matches both the load sheets and the invoices.
    • Install and remove tire chains as needed per weather conditions.
    • Maneuver the vehicle safely at various speeds and/or in difficult situations including, but not limited to, heavy traffic, inclement weather and/or in areas of tight (limited) maneuvering.
    • Maintain all required records for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases and mileage trip reports and ensure all required shipment documentation (manifest, invoices, delivery invoices or shipping orders) are available for inspection.
    • Comply with all federal, state, local regulations and laws (of the areas driven through) and company policies for the safe operation of commercial motor vehicle.
    • Report any delays in the delivery promptly. Include specifics of how the delay impacted the pickup or delivery of cargo.

I talked with a guy that drove team for them. He worked 3 days on and 4 off but they ran non-stop those 3 days. He seemed to like it and made decent money at it.

well, I was actually training him with another company. He talked non-stop about how great Papa Johns was and I finally had enough and told him to haul his kiester back there if it was so great he shouldn't have left in the first place. I think he lasted about a week. I'm not sure if he went back or not.

3 on and 4 off is correct, but not quite like you think. Sounded good to me at first too. You work Mon, Wens, Fri or Tue, Thur, Sat. On your on days you are at the warehouse at 5-6am and you will get back to the warehouse between 20-36 hours later. For that 20-36 hours you get maybe a couple 1 hour naps at most. The pay is decent. Gaurentee of $900 a week, but realistically I bring home $1100 on average gross. I normally am exhausted so instead of having Tue and Thur off, I just sleep.
