I live right by Newark and wondered what kind of company they were. I've never considered them just based on their trucks. They are pretty worn out looking and some of them are really old and worn out. A couple look like they from the early 90's. I'm also sure they don't have very many trucks, maybe 5-10 if I had to guess, and they constantly have local ads for drivers, another reason I've never considered them.

Sounds like a bad place to me

Hey, TK;
Yes, some of the trucks in the fleet are pretty beat.
(Got the makings of a poem, there!) but that's because when you pop by the yard, the road trucks are all out making money. I drove one of the beat ones for a while, now.
But I've moved up over time. Take my current truck as better example than what you'll generally find in the yard, weekdays. I get compliments on the thing all the time, and it is a flat out pleasure to drive. I'll post some pics of it soon as this place will let me.
475 ISX Cummins, 13 speed. Heated leather interior. APU.
It's not unlike.... indeed, it's a copy....of one that got rolled.... totaled... just recently. Word on the road was that the driver was one who left with a real attitude issue a couple years ago... and yet was recently brought anyway, and drove with us till that night. Guess who.
Other side of the coin: We have one guy who runs an older truck... #236. He's got it because he just started with us. He lives down in PA. The kid's attitude is reflected in his truck...It's got more miles on it than most of the rest of the fleet and yet looks killer, after a couple weekends of work on his part. ANd he'll go far with this place... or any other place he decides to similarly set his mind to.
Look, I'm living proof that the place is what you make of it. (Like most jobs, I suppose) I run hard, I take good care of my truck and I make money. Ive found everyone from the owner on down, to be very supportive. But again, it depends on the attitude you approach the place with, like any other job.
Consider also, that this place is essentially a ##### site, and that given the opportunity to #####, people will... even if, as in this case, the ##### isn't justified.Follow? -
