I just started as a site manager for Gardner and the company seems solid to me. The driver pay is a little low,but not horrible. You have to remember they had to spend millions to be "CARB compliant". It is a good local job and most drivers will trade pay for being home everyday. As for California, well that is a huge disscussion. In my opinion, the state is run by the far left from the bay area. That is why everything is screwed up. The state otherwise is gorgeous with great weather and good people.

Is one's success measured only in dollars?
If Gardner is a good fit for a driver, why give that up for a bigger paycheck?
A bigger paycheck may come at a cost too high to justify jumpin' ship and taking
a chance (gamble?) that the higher paying company will fit as well.

The poster who's post you've responded to, Mr&MrsPete, informed us their
position at Gardner is that of a "site manager". That doesn't sound like a
driving position, so the size of their paycheck is unknown.

I'm thinking about looking for options that may pay less to have something that fits my needs better at the moment. So, while it pains me to agree with After Shock (because you were the cause of my friends alcohol poisoning, or at least what she was drinking), I'd say there are a lot of factors in determining success.

    AfterShock Thanks this.

    Are you serious?! :smt107
I, Shakey AfterShock, (full stage name) am the "cause" of your friends alcohol poisoning because she was consuming a product that happens to share a name, although entirely different from the origin of the handle I use when I'm a hieroglyphic on a contrasting background? --- who happens to display an image of a product named, "Aftershock" on this site?
I'm flabbergasted, confounded, perplexed, bewildered and aftershocked.
    :smt103

For the record, for what it's worth, the name Shakey is derived from my geographical location,--- near Los Angles, California, --- often referred to by Big truck truck drivers as "Shaky Town". The second name, "AfterShock" is a result of warnings issued after a major earthquake in the area informing listeners that, "aftershocks can be more dangerous/damaging than the earthquake itself". Apparently the name fits better than I originally thought.
As for the product called "Aftershock", (instead of AfterShock), I personally have never sampled the drink. The image displayed was suggested by a poster here who also installed it for me. Prior to then, I wasn't even aware there was such a product.

I sincerely hope that your friend has recovered.

Meltom and MACK E-6 Thank this.

    I'm glad to know that.
    You're very welcome.
Actually, I thank you for the opportunity to provide the information.
Shakey AfterShock is 14 years old, --- in the imagination of a now off
the road, former over the road Big truck truck driver who hung up his
drivin' gloves to care for a parent with Alzheimer's. Two of the
hardest decisions I've ever had to make. I miss both a lot.

In the future, I hope agreeing with me doesn't cause you any pain.

I can't make any promises, I learned early on as a dispatcher never to make promises.

It's not necessary for a good dispatcher to make promises.
A competent driver wouldn't expect a good dispatcher to make promises
    I was a competent driver.

How was Aftershock involved in your friend's alcohol poisoning?
