CRST 8 month contract...worth breaching?

This is the primary reason you don't go to a trucking companies school!! Go to an outside school so you have control not them! It's not that difficult to get a student loan with these outside driving schools.

 

once again, i didnt go to a driveing school, got the book from, dmv, studyed for a week, went took the test, passed, went to the local collage, paid $350 for the road test an pre trip....then went back to dmv paid the 65 bucks for my lic.....but then again it was all a formality for me due to i already knew how to drive, then again getting involved with a bottom feeder like the crash roll an stunt team.(crst) be wear of companys bearing big prommises that will never come true

 

OK so you were already a driver, congrats. but for those of us that had'nt/haven't been behind the wheel of a CMV. theres very few options out there. 1. Put out the several thousands $$$ for driving school. 2 Have a company sponser you for a contract. 3 Have "Uncle Bob" teach you to drive his truck. And CRST has the shortest contract term. (8 months vs. 12 monthes...or longer)..
Yes CRST has robbed me, Yes they have screwed me around, Yes they dont care about me or my family. But to think that after this 8 months i can go somewhere else and make alot more money and be regional or local...And I didnt put out any money and learned how to drive, back, and navigate/route,, to me it was worth it...remember you dont learn everything going to (most) driving schools...they just give you the basics to get your license!

After 6 months they say you go up to 31 cents/mile...........Do think CRST would really be that bad to start out with as long as your not in a contract??

 

Sounds like a terrible experience

 

But I'm DESPERATE for a flatbed L/O job!! Why'd you erase the numbers?

 

How were you able to get .38 cents a mile after only a few weeks of experience? Isn't that a good deal?

 

What about Conway's trucking school for about 2k, is that cheap and good enough?

 

They treated me just fine. I worked for them for a year and a half. That thing about CRST wanting to get rid of drivers after their pay goes up is a myth. One of my co-drivers was making the top rate and we got miles. Never had a problem getting miles with that company.
