Who I recruit for

I recruit for approx 30 different dedicated jobs, OTR, Lease Opp, and Owner Operaters. I have specialized with JB Hunt in the past that is how I know their process. I have now looked at specializing into BigDawg Trucking Jobs.......... Which is several different companies on the dedicated, regional, OTR, and Lease Opp/ Owner Operator Packages.

Thank you for your honest answer. I thought you were a recuiter for JB Hunt. Have you ever driven for them as well? I get a kick out of talking to one of the recuiters and listen to the line of BS of getting an average of 2500 to 3000 miles a week and how you can make lots of money in their lease purchase program. We lived the horror of both being a company driver and even worse my hubby falling for the bs and entering in a lease purchase program which we are still digging our way out of that financial nightmare. Recuiters read from a script. What is worse is JB Hunt goes back on what they say. In any event, I am getting off the point of this post sorry about that.

Aussie,

I would like you to send me the info you have (proof) of JB Hunt's alleged wrong-doing. The Truckers' Report might be interested in joining the Class if it is feasible for us to do so. I have, countless times, talked to JB Hunt's recruiters, etc., and they always fall through and end up right back to their shameless tactics. Send your info in a PM to WiseOne. I will research your case, and possibly talk to the lawyers as well. Thanks!

This is amazing. I am supposed to believe that by calling JB Hunt, and requesting that they remove my phone number from their list, after I am sure that more information will be asked, that all will magically stop?

Gee...

I guess the fact that they are already making unsolicited calls to people who may not have even applied to them, is completely lost on them. I guess they just cannot take "NO" for an answer.

Hey...if some of what I have already said to some of those recruiters hasn't had me banned from their call list, then I sure don't see what ASKING them to remove me will accomplish.

Besides, I LIKE it when they call me. I have so much fun taking all my inner frustration out on them. And before anyone says a thing, THEY called ME, and not the other way around. JB Hunt has been calling my home for YEARS, and I have at least six dozen different telephone numbers associated with recruiters for them.

It's nothing personal, but unsolicited callers are not invited, so all expectation to pleasantness is out the window, as far as I am concerned.

Next time they call tell them you have a couple of question about benefits but ask them to hold on for a minute for what ever reason. Set the phone down and walk off. When you hear that loud beeping from the phone company you know its time to hang the phone up. Now you have wasted two or three minutes of their time that they could have used to pester some body else.

Just a thought.

I wonder if you could scare them into not calling you anymore, such having them think they are talking to a psychopath, or a pervert.

JB Hunt - Lowell, Ar.

JB Hunt is at it again, and is running a new advertisement to plug their Lease Purchase program. The following is a paraphrase of the ad:

"Hi Folks, this is Craig Harper, Vice President of Operations at JB Hunt. We are purchasing 1,500 new trucks this year, and this means that we soon have 100 trucks available for our lease purchase program. You can lease one of these low mileage trucks for ZERO down, and because they are pre-2007, they will get better fuel mileage."

Oh...so you have all the current trucks full of drivers? I was under the impression that you were still having problems. And I see we're back to the zero down proposal to try and lure them in. Consistency seems to be a word that JB Hunt just can't seem to grasp.

"And because you will have one of those more fuel efficient trucks, we can now offer you a great compensation package, along with a fuel surcharge that is adjusted weekly based on the price of fuel."

Yes. We've analyzed that wonderful pay package a few times in here. Economic slavery is alive and well in Arkansas, isn't it?

"As a contractor with JB Hunt, you will receive .87 cents per mile and at today's fuel price, you will also receive a fuel surcharge of 17 cents per mile, making your pay a dollar and four cents per mile!!!"

Wow!!! A buck four a mile? Anyone out there currently running their own truck knows this is an absolute insult, but those who are not up to speed on the costs of owning and operating a truck in a climate where fuel is $2.89 a gallon on average, might just think this would work. It's what you DON'T say in your ads, that people deserve to have a wee bit of understanding, before they pick up the phone.

17 cents per mile...eh? I guess you haven't been keeping up with the current fuel prices. That's just about half of what should be offered in the form of a fuel surcharge. So...how much are you trimming off the top for the company bank account?

I seem to remember that JB Hunt has some rather substantial deductions waiting for those that enter into the program, like a five cent deduction for maintenance, that never ends, so we're back down to 99 cents per mile.

Then it's also noteworthy to mention that while it is evident that you have raised the base per-mile compensation rate by a whopping two cents, it hardly makes up for the rest of what is sorely lacking in your program, making the venture worth no more in terms of recognition than a fart in a hurricane deserves.

You pay five cents less per miles than you do someone who leases a truck to JB Hunt obtained by their own means.

You force lease-purchasers to utilize outside contracted maintenance facilities, with no input whatsoever allowed by the driver, and they are subjected to steep prices and fees for every transaction for maintenance,

You charge contractors several fees, some of which are unprecedented by any other motor carrier in the industry, adding up to hundreds of dollars per year, in some cases. You're one cent per mile "fuel useage tax" is but one of them.

And the icing on the cake, in my opinion, is the deceptive "non-forced" dispatch policy that is in place. Drivers are forced, and you know well that they are. You can turn down two loads, but not the third...

Not to be short, Mr. Harper, but you're lease-purchase program is worse than Swift's, and theirs drags the bottom of the deepest ocean. Shame on you for getting on national radio and passing off this obviously slanted program, that is designed to do nothing short of expanding the bank accounts of the company, while forcing, yes, I say forcing, drivers to work for less than you probably spend for lunch every damn week. Why? Because these unaware people are not given the facts up-front by your completely dishonest recruiters.

"So give us a call, and make the dream of owning a truck a reality."

I'd rather eat dirt.
