Re: JB Hunt Recruiting Website?

What can really be said for a company who has a turnover rate of 110% a year? Sure they are a profitable company but with more drivers leaving than staying why would good drivers want to go there? It's been said on this site before, if they advertise every week they ain't worth working for!

Yea, and he was saying that the drivers that lasted a year would do good, with a 110% turnover most drivers would last about eight to ten months...

Re: JB Hunt Recruiting Website?

I read this site all the time and I think I need to add to this. I am not making excuses for recruiters. I have delt with a bunch of em who wouldnt know anything. But reading this thread alls I see is you all attacking the guy from JB. Sounds to me like he was trying to help y'all then y'all attacked him. Being a driver from arkansas Jb country, I have had my share of the calls. They sometimes call at the wrong time. Its a little anoying. I do still talk sometimes. I also know a bunch of Jb drivers that love being over there. If I decide to ever go back OTR that would be my first choice. Now before a bunch of recruiters try to recruit me. I will call you when im ready. . Yall give the guy a break, I really didnt see him say anything wrong

It is rediculous the ads they have that say they pay the highest & why don't you come over and make 6-10k more here. That company just burns me up how they treat drivers. They pay NOTHING for a FULL weekend of a driver sitting.

How can you make more money there? You CAN'T! Driver's, don't be fooled by their slick and sly words. They are pros at getting drivers in the door because they have to be because they can't keep anybody!

When this company tells a driver to come to orientation they won't even have the driver's application approved yet! They can have 800 drivers show up for orientation every week and then let 600 of them go before they even get out of orientation due to finding something wrong on their applications.

It is my suggestion that you NOT work for this company!

I know a lot of drivers that do good at Jb When I go back to OTR thats where im going.

Go in with your head up

Go in with your head up, but also know the odds are against you. Hundreds of drivers quit J.B. each month. What do you think the chances are that you will "make it" after all those other guys who've gone before you have quit 'em?

Good luck.

Re: JB Hunt

Im from northwest arkansas and i have known 100s of jb drivers. I know more that have done good there than have done bad. Your job is what you make it. I have been driving for 20 years. I have had some very crappy jobs but I wouldnt say Ive failed at them. I would say I can get the most out of what a company will offer. When I go back to OTR im not looking for 4000 miles a week. Im looking for ok miles 24-2600 is fine. Good benefits. 44 cpm is not bad pay. Im sure I will do good.

I don't know if "attack" is the right word.

I don't know if attacking is the right word. It's probably a bit harsh, actually. I say this because J.B. recruiters who stay on do so despite the fact they see their new hires, new hires they may have promised the world to, quitting after only a few months or even a few WEEKS.

I'd last maybe a month as a J.B. recruiter. I just couldn't live with the fact that I'd be attracting guys using slick sales pitches knowing they will probably be disappointed later. Maybe most of those will even quit because of the practices at almighty J.B. Hunt, the supposed best trucking company around. Practices I of course kept conveniently hidden from them during the recruiting phase.

Maybe it's just me, but those who ARE able to hang as recruiters at J.B. are not exactly the kinds of guys I'd invite over for Thanksgiving dinner or even a football game. In my mind, they obviously don't think much of drivers. They also (obviously) don't care about them much beyond getting them to orientation.
