I have a friend that worked for JB. the job lasted about 2 wks. No one can tell You what to do. I have been in trucking 31 yrs. and not knowing your experince I think it might be worth Your time to check out a small company close to Your home. they tend to offer better home time and are more under standing to how you want to run. Also You my find the money may be better in the long run. ( wages and benefits)

Re: Thank You for Your Support!

Yeah, I think you sounded like a lawyer, but I was impressed. I am planning on attending a trucking school and becoming a driver and I appreciated your post. I will avoid JB Hunt.

Re: JB Hunt

A lot of these big trucking companies, i.e. JB Hunt, Werner, Schneider, just to name a few, are really good companies for new inexperienced drivers. Rarely is a new driver (under 2 years OTR) gonna find a great paying job. Most good companies want a driver to show safety experience (no speeding tickets, no accidents) as well as miles under the belt before they're willing to pay the "big bucks" (whatever that is). You can go to any trucking company and find horror stories, and they done me wrong songs. Not to mention, the grass is always greener on the other side. But everyone should shop around and ask other drivers they meet on the road about their company(Or on here ). You'd be surprised at some of the responses you get. I'm still looking for the right company that has the miles, benefits, hometime, pet policy and amemities that I'm looking for in a company. In the meantime, I'm sticking with my little mom-n-pop company until I find the right company compatible with me and my wish list.

Re: JB Hunt

JB IS GOOD AT DOING THAT. They sent me an e-mail about a local position a few weeks back. I call on it and of course it's gone but i can go regional or otr. I tell them NO and hang up. JB is just a ****** up company. Stay away if at all possible. I know i worked there for a year.

Im dying to tell you something really funny about this board. But i wont, but I can assure you that we recruiters get a big kick out of it. Perhaps someday after I retire I will let you in on the humorous secret.
You may think so Mr. JB. However as a person looking into becoming a new driver I am certainly one you will not recruit. I had an online application already filled out and ready to submit but have now deleted.

Thanks everyone.
