That is what schugel wants. Drivers that sign a lease and then give Schugel back the truck. Now they lease it to a new driver.

You still get .36 cpm you just don't pay taxes on .09 cpm of it. People need to educate themselves on tax law a bit better. The company doesn't have to pay as much out on their half of your ssi if they claim some of your pay as per diem and you don't have to pay as much tax either. The big downfall being less income being reported to ssi affecting your benefits later if ssi still exists also affects your ability to get a loan or mortgage due to lower reported income. But you still get a full .36 cpm you just pay taxes on .27 cpm.

Any recent information about schugel. I am considering going with them and I am curious about current lease operators with them. I've heard nothing but good things and wanted to hear a few more guys experiences before I make my decision

The lease op questions are so laughable. Jump from one company to the next, never owning the truck but you think you have more freedom. Wow. Just wow.
bigdogpile and Shaggy Thank this. -

Saturday, someone in the pilot truckstop smashed the front of our parked semi truck, J & R had us sitting with a smashed truck until monday morning we took it to an international yard so they can fix it, which we could have been pulled over for because the fog lights gotten tore off. yesterday they had us ride with another driver 180 miles to Columbus ohio to get a new truck . The first truck they tried to give us had half a million miles on it it kept jumping it was unsafe to bring on the road. So they gave us this new truck after dhyaa started complaining. The first time we tried pulling off it only went 5mph, we brought it back to the shop, the second time we tried to pull off the speedometer did not want to work at all we didnt know how fast we were going we brought it back to the shop again. We stayed there until 10pm and the mechanics said "they couldn't fix it, use a speedometer app" so we drove 180 miles back to the trailer we were pulling and noticed that the truck was not governed, it is supposed to be governed at 65, when we got to a stop the monitor did not log our hours driven (its illegal to drive more than 11 a day an not log your hours, but we are doing paper logs for now) so if we got pulled over by dot, the speedometer not working, the monitor not loggin in any hours and the truck not being governed we would have had a major ticket. This morning we finally started pulling the trailer as we were going down a steep 11% downgrade the throttle stopped working we could not move the truck at all when the downgrade ended finally we found a shoulder to pull over on and the steering wheel locked almost made us crash into a pole he was hitting the brakes hard because we were going to crash so the engine started smoking bad almost exploded. we have been calling all the departments in this company for days to help us out and one guy said i have something better to do while the other said "isnt it good that your not governed" no its not good this is unsafe and frankly unprofessional. They care about their freight more than the welfare of their employee whos wife is on the truck and we risked our life several times. There is also a camera in the truck that keeps recording us all day personal conversations and all invading our privacy this camera is only supposed to be recorded 4 seconds before an accident and 8 seconds after, while they keep on recording us nobody seems to care enough to help us if they obviously see what is going on, darius, no offense but im pissed.... this company sucks we have been having problems all week
