Now, That is not respectful.. and considering that a truck got wrecked. This whole situation moved into the stupid stage!
No respecting driver wrecks a truck for any antler, 4 wheeler (unless it's Kids), or Grandma pulling out in front. I won't wreck mine that way. A cycle?

Don't go to Werner as a student for trainning. They will use you as a bondman. Most of their trainer are crazy because they think that any student that they past as a qualified driver will have a accident within 90 days and affect their, the trainer, CSA score. So to Werner it better to use a student at 350 or less a week for two months or more and then kick him/her to the side.

Have to agree that most of the trainers are worthless and not qualified, most have barely the legal requirement to be eligable to even train. all they want is the money they are getting to train. a lot of them are complete slobs and you have to empty their truck of 6 month old food
packages and other crap just to sit in jump seat. Although most need to
be fumigated. One student said his trainer threatened to cut his throat
while he slept if he didn't learn how to shift correctly.

Off hand, I'd say that's a pretty good incentive to learn how to shift.
Obviously that trainer's qualifications are impeccable. :biggrin_25523:

Truth is the truckdriver will be sorry when they are charged with vehicular manslaughter, looking at 5 to 10 in the pen.

I too drove for werner for six months and one week, in my opinion werner id what they agreed too do for me. they provided training, I had a excellent trainer who now drives for landstar(more money) and they gave me a new truck and the opportunity to learn how to drive safely. that said i figured out early that I simply could not afford to drive for them long term my six month avg take home was 326 a week. So I beat the bushes and found a better paying job.Company that I work for now avg take home is 756 for 2k miles a week and its local so I am home every nite and most weekends off. I am happy and the company is happy. I haul doubles B train now and love it ,but wihout the training I could not have gotten this job,so my advice is to look at the smaller companies that haul nasty stuff like septage and veg oil non haz mat and tankers, short runs I drive 406 miles a day and there are many companies that will give you a shot , but you have to look. of course I am not a long haul trucker now ,but I appeciate the living I am making. Good luck to you too

Newbies that can't shift by the time they get to a trainer should just hang it up . They probably can't back up either
