i sent a "PM" to TurboTrucker, and Portlandriver. you are making no sense in your acusations regarding driving at 3 am, and medical situations, and Werner's tactics/policies regarding "hit and run" from their drivers. maybe someone else can "straighten you out".

    good bye.......fool.......

Interesting dialogue going on here but, if memory serves me right (since I can't reaccess the link for some reason and I absolutely refuse to "sign up" on their site just to do so) wasn't the driver on meth? (excuse and correct me if I recall incorrectly)

I was talking more about the being on methamphetamines, running from police in a drug induced, paranoid state, crashing into things, etc., than the sensationalistic journalism or self-induced (via drug use) medical conditions after the fact aspect.

As far as bad companies go (following this thread), if they weren't so anxious to recruit D.A.'s like this in the first place, maybe by possibly lowering their standards or ignoring telltale signs, would they be issues at all?

Seems to me all of the bad press here just solidifies my opinion of this company (and any other, get-anyone-in-the-truck-and-just-move-the-darned-freight, companies out there) and makes me wonder just "who" they will hire.

I do concede, that some things can be hidden and that some companies can't see what's not on the record and therefore, I can't totally fault this company, but geez, seems like a meth user would leave some kind of trail or clues.

Was he even authorized to carry the girlfriend that jumped out?

So much for the pre-employment drug and police record screening process?

Anymore of your flaming will not be tolerated, in fact going back on this thread you are the one coming off as the super trucker and you are in the experience grouping to were you know just enough to be dangerous.

I have over 20 years experience in trucking and have seen people come and go and the ones that don't last are the ones that think they have all the answers...

Not all trucks, a team truck has two drivers, so to stop for a 10 hour break is irelevent...

That is true about team trucks, They hardly ever stop, only just to fuel and eat/shower.

I am not a dangerous driver. I am safety orientated. I have respect for other drivers when using the roads out there, whether I'm in a 4 wheeler or truck. I know that trucks bring the things in my home such as my clothes, food, etc etc.

Leave all the stupidity at the curb, as I'm doing. I do enjoy using this forum as it helped me with a lot of questions. I do like to talk about my experiences on the road and answer questions for other people.

Go back and watch the video (if you haven’t) You may have to hit the play button a few times, (as I did) to get it to play. http://www.krem.com/sharedcontent/VideoPlayer/videoPlayer.php?vidId=67363&catId=87

Call me utterly confused, but if you have experience, then I am at a loss to understand why you would question a truck driver operating a truck at 3AM. I've made plenty of pick-ups, deliveries, and drops and hooks at that hour. There's a lot less traffic to deal with in the big cities in the twilight hours.

I take my ten hours each day, but it may END at midnight and I may be up for the next working cycle BEGINNING at midnight and going thru until 14:00.

The video report does seem to clear up some of the mystery. The man was over 300 pounds, on meth, out of his gourd, and enough so, for his girfriend to jump out of the truck and call 911.

The question I have, is even though Werner has issues that are not really a part of this story...how did this guy get on with them?

I wish I could feel sorry for the guy, but there is no room for junkies and driving a truck, and his death kinda closes the case.

The good thing? No one died except for himself, this time.

Not at all.....this board attracts a great deal of newbies, and the more they can read that makes sense to them, the better.

yes, the video does clear it up much more in detail. in the original posters thread, only the newspaper reported that he died of a medical condition. there was NO report that he was high on meth. i can only "figure" that he "got on with Werner" when either he was "clean", or not a drug addict/user at the time..??

anyhow, at that amount of weight, high on drugs, no sleep, maybe his heart stopped...??

glad to see the video added more to the story.
