There are to many drivers out there that are cry babies, and complain about everything!!! There are alot of companies out there and we will stand behind Werener! My husband did come off the road to work in the oil field hauling water, not because of the company just to be home everynight and still make the bucks. He still refers drivers there to this day.
Thanks for saying something positive. I am almost out of school (I graduate 7/3/0 and I am probably going to start my career at Werner. I was a bit worried about it because of all the negative posts and I'm a little old to be wasting my time (I'm 49). I hope everything goes good for you and your hubby and If you want, I will keep you up to date on my experiences with Werner. Thanks again for easing my mind.

I'm going to start driving for Werner soon and I would like to know which pays better, OTR or regional? I would ask the recruiter but those guys are full of it and I'd rather hear it from someone who knows.

Talked to a trainer who was training
While they were unloading boxes at a dollar general
He said the only way to make money with werner was doing regional
Claiming there was no money in OTR
Now I am not sure if he was just saying that to keep the driver he was training happy or not

Let's see...SIX YEARS' experience and he'll be satisfied with SIX HUNDRED MILES A WEEK because he's "scared of changing jobs."

Good morning. This is Karen and I and my boyfriend want to say Good Riddins to a bad company, Werner Enterprises. To alll those going with Werner is a big mistake.

Yes, my boyfriend got hired on as a SE Regional driver right off the bat. Now he can drive, what he was hired for and he will be getting miles.

I want to say thank yo to all those who knew all the trouble with Werner and have agreed with me the whole time.

The major problem is lack of miles and down time. I have sat for hours, days and weekends because the dispatchers seem unable to give me any runs. Of course, no miles, no pay, and as a result I am about starving out here. I have been asked to drive for as little as 600 miles a week, not a day, and make only 26 cents a mile driving it. That comes to a whopping $156 gross per week. No driver in their right mind would agree to that. It seems like Werner doesn't have the business they claim they have, and the weekend and evening dispatchers are not at all helpful. I have looked into driving for another company, unfortunately, they want more OTR experience. I have no accidents but still am so new that I am probably stuck with Werner or will have to into a different line of work, and will still owe on my truck driving school loan. I have talked to other Werner drivers who have had a year or more and some of them are experiencing the same thing. I did not sign up to get rich, but I always thought that truck driving was a stable, respectable way to earning a decent living. Are other drivers out there having the same problem?
I WAS WITH WERNER FOR 15YRS UNTIL WEDNESDAY THE 1ST,I WAS FIRED FOR IDLELING SO I COULD GET SLEEP TO DRIVE SAFELY THE NEXT DAY. UR PROBLEM IS A WELL KNOWN ONE,AND HAS A NUMBER OF SOLUTIONS. GET RID OF UR DISPATCHER,TALK TO HIS BOSS,UR DRIVER ROW SUPERVISOR,AND TALK TO DRIVER RELATIONS ABOUT THE SITUATION.IF ALL OF THIS FAILS. GET OUT OF PRISON THAT IS WERNER.Im a bit bitter because they fired me in lakeland fl and i live near AUGUSTA Ga,over 475 miles one way. So brother, try my suggestions, and remember u r not alone.U dont have to drive 48 state,u can find a semi local job and build ur experience from there. good luck my friend, LONEWOLF65.
