Marten's is willing to take me but I have to go thru team driving as training for 2 weeks.

Does anyone recommend a company that offers some reasonable miles?

Have you tried Heartland Express? Gee, I am taking an interest. I understand your pain, I really do and I am so sorry to read all this and I do hope it gets better.

Did you ever think of going to a construction company to drive one of their dump trucks. It is darn good pay!

Well, good luck to you!

Trailer Angry

I trained with werner in 2001 drove with them until may of last year and am probably going back to them the end of this month. I trained drivers for five years and spent 3 of those five working with the safety and student dept. rebiulding the training program from the ground up. Ive worked in all of their full service terminals for months at a time in and out of the office. One weekend in Atlanta i was driving the van to the airpor to drop off a gentleman and he was talking about how he was quiting werner after 2 weeks and i cant remember why but he said that this was his 7th trucking company and he was just trying to find the right one. Im not going to say that people dont have valid issues with werner but most of the folks i found complaining about their situation were doing nothing to change their situation. I had no serious problems with werner after driving localy for a crapy outfit that had me hauling hazmat unkowingly without permits heavy hauling 100,000lb containers with broken and bad chassis driving 70+hrs in five days multiple weeks i find werner to be pretty respectable.
As far as being broke down goes, the quality of trucks these days is not very good the engines have trouble because of the new emission standards and fit and finish is horrible you cant blame that on a company.
I had read a post of a gentleman said he was fired for idling that does concern me i like comfort.
All in all i think people should try to fix things using all the available resorces before they start trashing.

im a truck driver i cant spell sorry

Well, then you would know the truck driver who was fired. He stands out like a sore thumb.

So you are going back to Werner? Good luck to you in future endeavors!

I'm a Driver in CDL School and have been pre-hired by Werner and May. Is Werner really as bad as these 45 pages sound? Should I go with May instead? I'm 36 and changing careers and I don't need the headaches of not earning a living to support my family.

Your candid thoughts will be taken seriously in my decision.

Thanks!!!!

Ok, being quite honest and frank with you, most drivers go to Werner at the very beginning for the experience then leave because others are so much better. Low pay and low miles with Werner.

Werner is known for hiring whoever cant get a job somewhere else.

Like I said, at the beginning drivers go there so they can get the esperience then move on to bigger or smaller and better.

Good luck to you in future endeavors.

Wow, all that and only 29 years old and 8 years total as a driver. You must be either super-trucker or one of the family members over there at Werner. Im suprised they let you quit, sounds to me like you did it all, or at least think you did.

Bulldozer no im not related

i take my job what ever im doing very seriously
i networked with people made a lot of friends so i got what i wanted
a lot of drivers think they can be ### holes to every one and then they expect every one to give them every thing
do your job better then whats asked of you then maybe someone will take notice
im not saying werner has no problems i know i had some issues with them when i left but after running illegal every day haulling hazmat with no permits for this local #### hole company it makes werner look decent

Werner Sucks

Everything I hear about Werner is bad. How can a crap company like that stay in business!! Everyone who drives for a living has some sort of #$#! to deal with but Werner seems to like to torture their drivers.
