The only problem with reading forums is that u have to take into account that more people are going to complain about a company than will actually take time away from making money to post the positives. I just think that unless u are a newbie and have only worked 1 place that you should have more than complaints. Where are the positive posts to this guys other 4 companies that were so great?

I tell every rookie that low pay is to be expected the first year.If you can hang in there after a year you will get better pay.As for werner they was my first company. After my dad got deathly ill I went to manager in springfield oh term and told him I was quitting because my dad was sick. The guy arranged for me a local job so I wnet out at night and was with dad during the day.so I cant complain about werner other then low pay but all rookie companies are low pay

I can understand why a student gets sucked into going to Werner, hell it happened to me! But why on earth would any experienced driver go there? In all your years of driving did you never go to any truck stops? One trip to any truck stop and you would know to stay away from them!

Have you seen some of the drivers at the terminal?
Have you stopped to look around at, say: Indy, Atlanta or the one in Ohio, specifically in the driver lounge?
Have you gone to pick up a loaded trailer at a drop yard only to find out it's loaded but noone put the BoL in the box at the front of the trailer?
..or picked up a trailer only to find out the marker light was burned out and the person before you just switched it with the ABS light instead?

    Nyman Thanks this.

Wow..I didn't realize that one had to include their whole life story in order to post a comment on here about a bad experience with one company. I have been driving off and on since 1993. My first company in 1993 was CRST. An okay company to start with if you don't mind driving team, and you understand that it's a training company and all that goes with that. Later, in 1998 I worked for Cannon express. They have since gone out of business. They were a good company to work for too. Then I worked locally for a while in Denver. Not trucking companies. In 2006 I went to work for JB Hunt in their dedicated fleet. Great job, loved it. Good pay, good benefits. However, they didn't allow dogs and the situation came up where I needed to take care of her. Then I went to work for Andrus Transportation. The company allowed dogs. True, I didn't do enough research. They were also a bad paying company, and not too concerned with legality. Then I went to work later for Werner. I believed the recruiter. That was my biggest mistake. I also remember a time when werner had a pretty good reputation, and was going kind of on that. It was a mistake. I wrote the original post for people thinking about going to work for Werner to give my opinion on the company, and to warn people against it. Tough crowd man. Oh, I put 5 years as my experience because it's about right for my OTR experience. But I've been doing this stuff for 18 years. Who do I drive for now? Nobody. After Werner I just decided I was done. Not JUST because of Werner, but because of it all. It's just not what it used to be. I'm out of the whole industry now. But, I can still voice (Write) my experience, and my misgivings. The porn comments...thanks for the chuckles.

I must say out of five jobs, you picked the 5 worst possible companies to work for. What attracts you to these companies?
Why would you even consider a job making .27 mile?
Even though we know 5 years experience across 18 years is 5 years experience. The industry looks at any 3 year break resets your experience. But still, I wouldn't even consider less than .32 mile if I was in your position. Where I'm at now, I wouldn't even consider less than .35 at a new job. It's all your choice when you job hunt.
As long as drivers are willing to fill them seats, it hurts all drivers because statistics dictate pay.
