When you start making six figure salaries as a truck driver, I'm sure you'll get to pick out your equipment, too.

Yet a student who just upgraded to solo with no previous driving experience besides a 4 wheeler gets a brand new truck with under 50 miles. I just shake my head and think to myself, "That's a accident waiting for a place to happen".
Someone from my company must have read this post, because not a day after I posted this, I got transferred into a 2012 Cascadia with 16 miles on the odometer.

BatMan: I hope you don't wind up kicking yourself for that. I had a 2010 model, last generation of 60 Series Detroit. That truck was nothing but headaches. I hope your experience is better than mine was.

I don't call them crapcadias for nothing. Every cascadia I had was plagued with problems, even this brand new truck. There is a water leak by the doors in the upholstery, so I'm hoping to get that fixed before I leave the terminal. It's not very pleasing to have a gallon of water land on your lap when you hit the brakes.

To look at things on a brighter note: at least this truck has a working bunk heater.

You're lucky, I got a '08 Columbia that's so loud I have to wear ear plugs, so gutless uphills, I get passed by the Amish and so problematic that instead of going to the shipper, it goes to the shop. I'm flatbed and thank god I have a full size sleeper (with Swift that sleeper is called "Low income housing")....yeah a Cascadia would be nice.....anything would be nice compared to this POS...

Swift is a good company for GOOD drivers. If you are not a good driver you will not make money. No one is gonna hold your hand.

I restate my belief that Tony (turbotrucker) must have been rejected by swift. That is the only way I can account for his hatred towards them.
Well I think if u reed. The link he provided aboutwww.4law.com u will C the pavon vs. Swift & then u will see the court agreed with pavon an awarded him money. Also wasn't swift in a lawsuit this yr. 2011 for stealing the fuel surcharge from there o/o lease drivers I will google it but I do remember something like tht coming across the roaddawg channel on siriusxm radio
