Angry I worked for swift and hate them

I worked for swift and I have worked for 2 other companies, still employed as a trucker.

I hate Swift. They worked my ### off with no attention to my medical or hometime needs, then they blamed me for log violations. I warn you, if you drive for them, don't go throught their brand training school, its a trap. If you don't stay on with them and suffer the exploitation, you will be stuck with the bill for their shabby school. i trained elsewhere through a state program, and I can't believe they are still in business.

There is a pervasive bad attitude throughout the majority of swift dispatch offices, they think drivers are second class citizens. They blackballed me on DAC because I told them to shove it and quit taking their crap. They will screw you over big time. And if you drive for them, you will get nailed by cops and weigh stations, esp in CA.

SWIFT - Sure Wish I Finished Training
TFIWS - Two Fools In White Semi

any way you go Swift is scary. Former swifties at Schneider school told some really appalling stories of that company and it's operations

As far I as I know it is not illegal to purchase your own stocks. There are many agencies out there that allow their employees as well as themselves to purchase stocks at a decent price. Just what I know from friends.

not going with Swift

I have been doing alot of research on OTR companies and trying to find the best outfit for me. I am currently in the military and WILL ask questions and if i don't like the answers will tell you "thats BS". As for swift, i was going with them at first but time and time again their ISS rating of 99, the fact that a swift driver took my brother in laws mirror off his truck trying to get by him to be first in line. In that situatuion the driver had a trainer with him. But what i am looking at is, they are so big, wonder what is going to happen when the DOT takes their motor carriers license away. If that happens alot of freight will be out there for O/O which i am going to work for. I agree with all replys about swift, avoid them like the plague.

I have an x in-law that works for swift. they are by poler and has been in an mental hospital. I know this personally. I also know they were on meth and they had to get dried out before they would hire them. they are now driving for swift.
How can they hire someone who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, manic depressive and mentally unbalanced? don't they have to take a test to see if they are mentally balanced?
This person was married to one of my offspring. they attacked me and my grandchildren and their mate. they was hearing voices coming from the tv and the car radio telling them to do things.
we didn't press charges, the police saw the damage they did and took them off to the mental hospital, where they spent two months and the insurance ran out and the government let them go.
I am really worried they will loose it when behind the wheel. But that person is no longer in our family so I don't know what I should do.
Is it possible to get over the things that they was diagnosed with?
I am using they because I don't want to hurt them I am just worried about the other people on the road.

Are they on meds? Are they aware they have the problem? My uncle is bi-polar and maniac depressive, it took many years for him to admit he has a problem and that his meds are the only thing that will keep him "together". Until he admitted that and realized the meds will help him, he was a basket case! He's been on the meds steadily now for about 4 years, has it together more than I do sometimes. He's been happily married to a wonderful woman for 2 years and is now reconnecting with his kids (5 from 4 different woman). The reason I'm telling you this is, I believe everyone has it in them to do the right thing, and if they have conditions that require meds, are they strong enough to know this. My uncle finally is, maybe your X-relative is now, and has figured out what he has to do. Fingers are crossed for you and him. Good Luck!

yes they were aware of the diagnosis and they are supposed to take medicine the rest of their life and the last time I heard they wasn't taking anything. they took medicine long enough to get dismissed from care. afterwords they denyed having anything wrong with them.
The last I heard they went through drug counseling and got dried out as a prerequisite to employment. that was the only way Swift would hire them.
Something smells bad about the whole thing. know personally about this I was there during the manic deprisive and hearing things part. and also the hospital part.
the part about swift knowing and drying them out I don't know I only heard.

The ISS-2, or ISS-D number or whatever it's called now is basically the percentage of the time you can expect to hassled by the cops at weigh stations. The higher the number, the harder they will look at you. You can find this at www.safersys.org.

I must say, I am really upset by the number of people that refer to Swift drivers as "Ignorant" "Stupid", "Bi-Polar"...I agree that Swift may not be the best company out there to work for and yes I do have my share of problems with them, but it is a paycheck and I do make decent money for the most part BUT I am by no means STUPID, IGNORANT OR BI-POLAR and I really resent those type of comments being said about Swift drivers. I have been with Swift for 8 months...Have NEVER had an accident, never hit anyone. I consider myself a very GOOD driver...One of the reasons that Swift gets the bad name is because they are so large so yes it looks like they are the only one out there screwing up...If you listen to the CB's you will hear the "SUPER TRUCKERS" bad mouthing ALL of the bigger companies. So please, don't refer to ALL Swift drivers as having mental issues, etc...I happen to be very well educated and have ALWAYS wanted to drive a truck so that is what I am doing. You have to start somewhere.
