hey i have been with roehl transport for almost a year now. I will say that there is no perfect company out there. i believe everyone will admit that. you will find something about every company you work for. but overall roehl transport has been a great company to work for since i been with them. They have great trucks at most times directions are good and there trainers do a great job in training. roehl has there own schools that could train you. they have a school in gary indiana. they also have many hometime packages that you could sign up for. roehl has a website so give it a try.

Still Around

wow I can not believe that DOT allows swift to continue to operate. I Started my career with swift because i didn't think and they offered to get me my license. I worked for them for about 7 months trying to finish out my 10 month contract and get the experience at the least. During these seven months i went threw the worst experiences of my life. I laughed at everyones jokes about swift and agreed with most. I was lucky to recieve 1500 miles a week and at 26 cents a mile i wasn't making very much. I went through sitting for 3 days in Ohio. I went through about everything that you guys and everyone else have said about them. It was by far the worst experience of my life. I would sooner give up my CDL then ever work for swift or even refer anyone to go to swift. I am a firm believer that a company is what you make of it but I tried to make the best of Driving for them. In my time with Swift i was coming up I-81 in virginia one afternoon and i was inches away from being pushed off the road by a fellow swift truck. So i got on the CB and said something. come to find out it was a trainers truck and the student was driving. Well the trainer was sitting in the passenger seat the whole time and just sat back and watched. A few hours later i arrived at their martinsburg terminal and was done for the day when that same driver pulled in. he happened to recognize me and began yelling and screaming at me like i was a little child. I reported this to my DM and Fleet Supervisor and nothing was done. Well that was then End for Me soon after i turned my truck and keys in and left the company.

Do not hesitate to enroll in a PTDI school. They have to keep high standards that are set by the trucking industry. Good luck!

If you are a solo driver then find a company that does not train drivers, use teams and has minimal contractors or lease drivers and you will probably get treated better and will not have to run the scraps left over from the board when they get done loading and keeping the above happy.

Yea they are a refer outfit who sends drivers out west but does not want them to chain. Do you like sitting around waiting for the sun to come out? Lots of hassles heavy load Refer driving plus numpty policies equals stay away, thats IMO.

I like Swift

Perhaps Swift has been bad in the past, but, Jerry Moyer the origional owner bought the company back about 6 months ago and it is doing a quick turn around. They are a good company to work for. I am a new driver with them and they have kept their promises, paid me properly and treated me well so far.

I thought it was jerry moyes ,thats what it says on swifts website. you obviously are new. what quick turn around is that? what freezing your balls off at night because they dont want you idleing. im done bad mouthing swift, but i dont see where you are seeing a turn around. im just taking the ride and putting myself on cruise control i can tell a list of things ive been screwed over with. im just gonna bite the bullet and keep driving for swift until i really feel that i have good experiance. i really cant complain though im making more money in a week than ive ever made with any other job so......momma always said life is like a box of choclates you never know what your gonna get.....and thats all i have to say about thatoh and driver dont take offense i just really havent seen any improvements with swift so im just wondering what you meant by that.and like i said above im not bad mouthing swift anymore .with any company your gonna have your ups and downs so for now on out im just taking it for what it is..

Hi,
Well I hope they continue to treat you well. You are one of a very few I have heard that like Swift. Perhaps it makes a difference where you are from and who your boss is.
good luck.
