| They can't take away your CDL, but they can make you repay your school. SWIFT is NOT the "typical" slow company, my company truck runs 69mph and I am making .38 a mile and home every 10 days. |

It will always be known as a training company, even though the pay/benefits is comparible to most OTR companies. Most new drivers are told by other people its a training company, so they go in thinking the pay is way better after the year. Generally its not, unless you can get a union job, or specialized freight. |

| There could be something to it Hmmm. Hold it a second, Spoiled. That guy's company truck MAY go that fast. When I was holding the 57-mph SwiftCo wheel, I could trick my truck and release the governor while driving. Naturally, with the Q-comm tattle-tell, I didn't do that much. I didn't want to get fired for tampering with it. All one had to do with my old ride was push the clutch in while driving at max, switch the ignition off for about five seconds, turn the key back to "run", and release the clutch pedal slowly. When the engine restarted, it'd run ungoverned. My point is there are ways to bypass the company's speed limit. Some guys may be pet drivers who've kissed some tail and now get special treatment. Maybe it's a fleece-operator rig. Maybe it's something like my situation above. He may not be telling a lie.

| Great Swift Blog While searching for information about Swift, I came across this account from a new driver. It is well written and informative. LINK REMOVED

| PM me Shadow, send me that link via PM when you get enough posts built up. I'd like to read that guy's testimony.

| swift speed Tip, i think he's fibbing on the speed issue in a swift truck.. When I got my truck with them they made dang sure it only did 65/67 then when jerry moyes came back it wasn't 3 months they turned em down to 64/64 and when the trucks go into the shop for a service the first thing they do is plug that computer up to it and make sure it's set right.also they are watching the overspeeds on the qc.. if you go over whatever they have the truck set at you get wrote up for it. they have several different ways they do that now. if you go over 65 for more than 5% of the trip you get a write up. If you go over 68 they considerate " excessive speed " you get wrote up for that too. Now that was when the trucks were set at 64/64 now that they are turning them down to 62 i'm not sure what they're going to set it at.. After 3 write ups they suspend you and after that they terminate you if you do it again when you come back from the suspension. Not all the terminals run the same but jerry is trying to get the whole company to do the similiar thing to the drivers.

| My stint During my very short stint with SwiftCo, the company speed was 57. Back in those days, Swifty drivers would have killed to have a truck that did 62. This was when companies such as SwiftQuit were pitching a ##### fit if their drivers fueled up in California at $1.20 a gallon.
