LOL, there's alotta truth in that statement. I won't go so far to bash Swift, but I'll park on the side of the road before I park next to a Swift truck. I'm sure many of their drivers can drive and perhaps even back up okay, but do to my pre concieved notions, parking along side of one of them is a risk I'm not willing to take. I prefer to wake up with my hood still intact.

On second thought, I will go so far as to bash Swift. I'd personaly love to see them go tiits up financialy. Reasons are multi fold, but if nothing, just for the way they treat their drivers, (judging by what gets posted here, and on the CB.)

Come on, Paw. How can you post such a thing. For one, ripoff isn't my "source". Companies themselves are my source. Also, if this ripoff site has been sued successfully, that means their latest posts are reliable. You know as well as I if the site is being sued it will cover its posterior so lawsuits don't happen again. But then this all assumes I take what you say to be gospel, which I don't. Don't take it personally, but I'd have to talk to the founder of the site to get the real scoop.

Bottom line is this--if ripoff HAS been sued, you can believe the posts there of late are even MORE believable. A site that won't change its ways won't stay up long if it must take lawsuit hits. You can bet your credibility on it, if you have any left.

    LOL Who's B.J.?

Look, Swift does not treat people well. That is why they don't retain them. Sure people look for work in trucking and don't do any research before getting into it, but some people do like trucking after they do it for a bit. So if they like driving, why don't they stay at Swift if it is such a good company?

I didn't make it through the first day at Swift orientation. I walked because they talked to us like we were dogs. They didn't feed us lunch, and they wouldn't let you leave to get any food. Anytime you ask them a simple question, they would respond with a smarta** answer. I figure if they treat you that bad in an unpaid orientation, how bad are they going to treat you when you drive for them.

Needless to say, my next orientation was a more professional experience.

The only reason I'm with Swift now is because I need the experience and because I started at Werner like a DUMB !## and no one else wanted to hire me until I had at least 3 months experience (OK there were others, but I chose not to go with them).

With that said, I on the other hand have been treated really well by everyone even during orientation.

They fed us ( the food tokens could've been $10 instead of $5.. Oh Well) and let us pretty much come and go if we needed.. AFTER we completed our physicals.

Just as long as we stayed awake through all the boring videos (i almost didn't make it through the 2 hour video but that's a different story on how some of us made it through) we were alright.

I will admit there was one lady who just wasn't happy and was going to share her misery with all. If you gave her back the attitude she checked herself real quick.

I'm finished with training this coming Monday. I'll be glad to get rid of my mentor.. He's actually taught me a lot, but I'm completely done with him.
    :violent3:

These are just a few of my experiences that I wanted to share because so far from what I've seen is All good from Swift. Definitely a whole lot better than Werner. IMHO. We'll see what happens when I'm on my own.

Where did you go to orientation? I went to Atlanta. You are right about the physicals. We must have gotten a late start. It got to be late afternoon and I was about to go cannibal. I ask if I could get something to eat and they said not until after the physical. There was still 8-10 people ahead of me so I told them to give me my paperwork back and I left and got me a burger.

I hope it works out for you there.

I know we were given money for food and orientation was paid.

Vol, you're pissing up a rope here trying to convince these Swift cheerleaders of anything logical. You know you're right, and so do I. If SwiftQuit were great, they'd not have the turnover they have. Absolutely makes sense to me. And neither would the likes of JobHunt and England have their turnover problems. If these outfits were great, not only would they not have the turnover they have, but they'd also not have recruiters. Not because they wouldn't need 'em, mind you, but because those recruiters would be themselves busily working at these supposedly 'great' jobs at these outfits.

Just hang tight. A new site is about the appear in the Cyberian trucking world.

I went to orientation in Phoenix. We got tired of waiting for our physicals so when the second or third batch of people got back.. We (the smokers) just stood up and formed a line to be sent next. We needed a bathroom and a smoke break really bad.

There was like 50 people total for orientation. so needless to say some of us were NOT going to wait any longer.

As for lunch, well you can guess it. Not even the orientation instructor was going to wait to take lunch.

If it works out for awhile Great. If not, just let it work out long enough for me to get the basic requirements needed for my next adventure.

You know what they say about orientations. Well, what SOME say, anyway: stay away from outfits with crowded orientation classes. That's 50 people for how long of an orientation? 2 days? So can we say 100 sausages on average every week? Maybe 150? And that's just one terminal.

I've heard it's even worse at England.
