It's all what you but into it.. I have worked for Swift, and out of the big companies I would go again, now that I have a better understanding of how this industry works, and how to make money in it..

Oh Swift. Should have learned from the military that recruiters can't be trusted. Recruiter tells me that I will be 1-14 days with mentor to do company policy/procedure training, then out on my own at .34 cpm based on 2 yrs exp. I go down there and the first thing they tell me is 6 weeks w/trainer...I say, what's this about? I was told 1-14 days, etc... They backtrack. We'll have to give you a road test. I do the road test w/o any problems and they say they can't verify my experience and I will need the 6 weeks for sure, 300 per week for 6 weeks and .24 cpm after that as I'm a "trainee". I'm outta there.

Not to say bad or good about the company, just the same as anywhere else...watch yourself and don't trust anything that isn't in writing.

You better get with your previous company and see how they are verifying experience. If they dont return calls etc.. then it is unverifiable experience. Usually you can use previous paychecks etc.. to also show experience as long as it was not local work. If any part of the road test was also failed, then its also going in as a trainee with a mentor for a refresher, usually 1-2 weeks.

Got to love those right hand turns and four wheelers who think they can get by real quick during the turn. They need to add a training class about trucks in drivers ed!

Make me wonder if she wasn't trying to cheat around the truck during it's turn...

That's probably what happened. But, my question is, why wasn't the truck driver watching his west coast mirror—especially if the corner was so tight, that he had to swing out to make the turn?

As for the driver of the four-wheeler... do they think 40 minutes of video showing how stupid they were, is going to make their case in court?

Both drivers need to be smacked upside the head!
