We have a friend who drove for PTL and that was his complaint. Low miles.

There was a recent posting by "Guitar String". Read it. Believe it. His posting pertains to fleet operators and owner operators. In the late 90's we had many trucks leased to Paschall Services running under our own authority. The owner of the company at that time was "Tony". I do not recall his last name but he was the son of the owner of PTL or Paschall Truck Lines. When Tony and his wife started playing games with out money we decided to begin moving our trucks to a more honest company. As soon as we started moving trucks Tony quit paying us and started back charging us for trailer repairs, tires, and other things. He even charged us for Qual Comms. We did not use his Qual Comms. We had our own that were on our trucks when we started with Paschall and were still on our trucks when we left. At any rate we ended up having to hire an attorney and sue. You would not believe the stuff they came up with then. Our attorney while doing research for our case found scores of other truckers who had been treated the same but could not afford to hire an attorney and fight because they had already lost their equipment and had to go on with life to make a living. The term Guitar String used describing Paschall as "morally corrupt" was as descriptive of this company as any I could thing of.

Give Jim a call at OOIDA and tell him about this. Get a group of your fellow Ex-PTL OOs together and file a class action suit against them. OOIDA will help you with that. It's this, take your lumps, or take a shotgun into the terminal office to get your money.

It really is a wonder we've not heard yet of a company ripping off the wrong driver. I can't believe it hasn't gone down yet. How many people die when it does go down is anybody's guess.

Good luck to all you Ex-PTL drivers who've been screwed around and around and around. Take 'em to court and get your money.

It should only be a matter of time.

Well, 4 months and 40k miles under my belt, and I have a VERY different opinion of PTL. I'm lucky to get 1900 miles a week. My avg wait time at customers is 3 hrs. I was told 85% drop and hook, I've seen 10%. My dispatcher doesn't communicate with us. He won't give me miles, but gripes when I have a high idle rate. A couple of weeks ago, I went to Murray to pick up drivers log books, and they were out. Said they had been out for over a week.

Been talking to several drivers and I'm hearing the same complaints. I'm looking at other carriers.:biggrin_25512:

We were also scamed by Paschall Services Inc. We are a small fleet and thought it was a good opportunity to haul freight for Paschall. We were charged for qualcomm instalation and uninstall even though we uninstalled it ourselves and sent it to them via Feddex. They promissed to pay at 15 days and took over 30. We have been in a battle to collect with them for a few months and looks like it is going to have to go to court.
DO NOT GO WITH PASCHALL SERVICES INC. THEY WILL TAKE MONEY FROM SMALL FLEETS AND RUN THEM TO THE GROUND.
They owe us about $25,000.00 and they sent us a check for less than 4,000. they added a legend on the check that if we cashed it we agreed that all was settled.
I would like to hear from other companies scamed by them to see if we can file a class action against them.

i am considering paschall services,i have a contract that states 30 day payment so that is all i can expect them to do.they claim if i use trans-flo they pay upon reciept of BOL.i'm in california and they claim i can get back out this way every 2 weeks.their CPM is better than whom i'm contracted to now,and as long as they can keep the truck moving i see no major issues.all companies nail you on the qualcomm fees it seems so i'm not too worried about that.they state in the contract that ALL miles are paid @ the same rate(loaded/empty) and the rate is sent via qualcomm prior to accepting load.i will say that they are one of the few who allow you to keep your own authority, and allow you to manage your truck as your own-which it is.i would like to talk to anyone who is or has done business with them.JEFF FINK TRUCKING

Jeff, if anyone wants your phone number they will have to ask you for it, and since you lack sufficient posts to enable PM privileges, you will have to go through a staff member to send it.

    KD5AXG Thanks this.

To begin with...I apologize in advance for any mistakes made with this message. This is the very first post that I have ever sent on a computer. And doubt it will work. But, I'm going to give it a try.
As I have said I don't know computers. But, I do know Trucking and PTL in particular. This is my 15th year with Paschall and with my other two computer illiterate friends here we have a total of 48 years with PTL.
In our opinion...PTL was the best company in the industry in the 90's.
Now, they are no better than the rest. We have read the other posts listed here and are quite impressed with their accuracy.
We stay here because we dont have to comply with all of the new rules and regulations that they create on a daily basis.
We know the story of PTL. And, why the company has become what it is today. But, Im not going to bore you with the details. If someone has a specific question that we can answer, We will.
PTL is a great company for Rookies...If you dont want to learn how to drive a truck? PTL has automatics! If you dont want to work? PTL does not force their drivers to unload! If you dont want to run North-East? PTL wont make you go there! If you cant read a map? PTL will route you! If you dont understand when you should fuel a truck? PTL will tell you where to stop and exactly how many gallons to pump! If your afraid that you may have to drive alot? Thats not a problem here!
But, If you are a professional driver who knows how to do their job, Who enjoys the freedoms of the road. Who wants to be treated with respect and trust while making a good living??? Me too!!! Let me know when you find it.
