My last post on the subject of PTL was September of 2007.
I Worked for them for over 15 years.
Between my two friends and myself we had a total of over 50 years experience in a PTL truck.
PTL is a great company for new drivers...
The best part about working with Dennis and Morris for so long is that I REALLY appreciate the company I work for now!
PTL provides an important function in the industry. It hires drivers that nobody else will.
A positive attitude will take you a long way, It did for me.
But, It seems like PTL dares you to stay there as a driver.
Good luck.
your gonna need it!

My company gives me some grief about it but at least they will let me redo it and find me a different one. And yes, they have the ability to get you another fuel stop. You have to drive a certain distance, like 30 or 40 miles past your original fuel stop for this to work. If your company says no, they are lying.
But I am running from this and all other large companies who have Quallcomm and these bogus "fuel solutions" programs, never coming back. Too many paper pushes who have never driven a truck pushing their micro-management agenda. I don't care if it saves them money, it wastes my time and my money. -
My husband is at Murray waiting for orientation tomorrow. He has heard many horror stories from the other PTL drivers in orientation. Should my husband leave before orientation?

any advise? Should he try PTL or look elsewhere? He does have driving experience.

Hard to say. What is one driver's nightmare is another's Xanadu. If he is not comfortable he should excuse himself. Have him ask question and try to make sure everyone is on the same page. And don't believe anything that is not in writing. Wish I had better advice. Others here may be able to help more.
kinnakeet04 Thanks this. -
If he is already there I think it would be wise to do the drug screen because I remember reading where someone walked out of orientation and they dinged his DAC with failing to take drug test.
I worked there 2 weeks in 2007 and they absolutely sucked. Bad thing is they have not bought one new piece of equipment since then and I thought there trucks were ragged then. -
All is true.lol.. I went this week to orientation. About 24 of us. They will hire any and all drivers that come thru the door. Promise them a truck and miles..lol.. You dont get either of them. This girl worked their for two weeks got a load for only 800 miles in a week, then had to wait for her truck. She then got her truck to sletp in it behind the hotel because they didnt have a load for her....
