.......I do not recommend, that any driver work for Evans Equipment of Butler,indiana......this company is running many scams.....such as trying to force company drivers to pay for fuel........holding back 3 weeks pay , and skimming drivers pay ......after 3 weeks of hard running,... my 1st paycheck was $89 ,..not kidding! They take out your state and federal tax money ...then pocket that money!
.....Evans Equipment also runs repair shop scams for 0/0s and other companies that have breakdowns in the area, ...very shoddy work and overcharges for repairs.
........The leasing scam is real bad, they try to force company drivers to lease one of their old broken down trucks......if you refuse they start harassing drivers.
......You may be in the middle of delivering a load and need fuel ...and they will shut off your fuel card!...hoping you will fill tank with your money.
.........My truck broke down once a week...losing money and sometimes waiting 10 hours before they would send service!
.........30 cents a mile for 5 years experience and 200-300 mile runs a day.......they think thats good miles.
..............electronic logs.....and no per diem ........they try to hide this till you get to orientation!
..........This company does not make their money from delivering freight, but from deceiving/scamming drivers!
.........Evans Equipment is owned and run by Elbert Evans and his 3 degenerate sons also some creepy office staff, payroll, and dispatch.
.......The scum in dispatch ,payroll and safety, called Butler police and actually had a driver shot in the leg and arrested just because he was angry about money missing from his pay!
.........please pass this one over when their recruiter calls you ......you will be wasting time and losing money!
Evans Equipment - Butler, IN.....A very bad company!

WHAT???
NO PER DIEM???
Well What The Heck are you complaining about, no per diem pay for??
Have you NOT read in here about the rip off per diem scams??
You actually WANT Per diem?
Are you out of your ever loving mind???
Do you need to read again why it's a ripoff for the driver and a tax and money maker for the company??
Do you think any company that "gives" you a per diem is doing so to "help" you?bobcat73 Thanks this. -
I see they always have a recruiter at the t/s in Ft. Wayne. They also pick up loads at one of my customers in Ft Wayne, never talked to a driver, though. Equipment "looked" OK, International 9900's, aluminum flatbed trailers.
bobcat73 Thanks this. -
Yes, the equipment looks okay ,but thats all....it does not run okay.
Oscar meyer, is the recruiter for Evans .......he will surely lie and hide things.
I have not seen evil like this since I worked for Arrow trucking in Tulsa,OklahomaLast edited: Jun 4, 2011

Evans does not force or for that matter make any company drivers buy fuel. Evans does not hold back 3 weeks of pay and yes they do take out taxes. If the driver got a $89.00 check, the driver probably forgot about the hundreds of dollars in advances that he took for that week. Evans has never had a complaint about repair work done in our shop, we are an authorized dealer for International and Cummins and we give a break on labor rates to our Owner Operators. The Lease Purchase program at Evans is one of the best in the industry and no one is forced to Lease Purchase a truck, we even defer lease payments if a driver wants to take time off. Drivers pay for someone with 5 years is $ .35 per mile, and $ .09 of that is paid in per diem. We are beginning to implement electronic logs at this time. The comment about having a driver shot by the local police is just to ridiculous to even comment about. In closing, if you want the truth about Evans Trucking call a recruiter, if you believe the post on this web site, don't bother calling, we don't want drivers like you.

Five years experience but you didn't get on with a more reputable company? -

Didn't you read the OP.
They make money off drivers , who else does that?
They are able to force drivers to do things no one else can , even putting in diesel out of their own pockets.
All this out of less then $30 per week.
Heck , they even command the police to sort trouble makers out.
Any organization that can pull that off is going nowhere. -
Gee if the company gets on here to defend themselves, there must be a problem.Must companies read the forums but one disgruntled employee doesnt make a company, and they dont bother to respond. There must be alot of hate and discontent there.
