****MCLEOD EXPRESS****........guaranteed pay scam!

I worked for "Mcleod Express" in 2010, ....they said drivers would receive a guaranty of pay at $800 a week .... plus bonuses if you run extra miles......so they said if freight is slow and you only run 1000 miles a week ......you still get $800 a week plus a chance to earn even more money!
......So I figured wow!...what a great deal!.......why would any driver quit this company??.....and why is their such a high turnover at "Mcleod Express"??
....As I was finishing orientation ,I saw several drivers quiting in disgust.
...They approached me and said that it was all A lie about the $800 guaranteed pay,....they told me that you must complete all assignments/ loads they give you......
and that they want you to run 24 hours a day and night whether you have legal hours on your log or not!
......So another words you must run 3,000
miles a week, or you will not receive the guaranteed pay of $800, but regular pay or screw pay... at 31cents to 37 cents a mile.
.....Of course I did not believe them until I started working for mcleod .....and to begin with my truck broke down several times ....so their payroll said that I was not entitled to any guaranteed pay...... I made $300 the 1st week ...during 1st breakdown .....and $475 the next week on the 2nd breakdown,
.......So , after two weeks when my truck was finally fixed ,I figured I should try to make a effort to run all the miles they said I had to run to obtain the guaranty of $800.
......well those guys were correct that Mcleod was running a scam.........And I was driving day and night...sleeping 4 hours a day, with a very illegal log book!.....just to get the $800 a week.
.......I stopped driving illegal for Mcleod when I went thru a weigh station in Georgia...and was inspected ...... It was just luck that the officer was decent and only gave me a warning for my log book ,...I could have gotten a $300 fine...not kidding!
.......That scared me enough to tell Mcleod express that I would refuse to run illegal for them....for their scam of $800 a week pay.
......I ended up making $400 a week ......plus the usual harassment from dispatch ,....when I told them I did not have the legal hours to run.
.......I brought this to the attention of Mcleod express ..safety director..... what a joke.... her name was" Mitzi H"....... she was not to intelligent and had a big loud mouth and when I was walking past her office, I heard her yelling and screaming at her husband on the phone for not buying enough taco sauce when he went food shopping for her.
......I then decided to resign...I had enough of this crappy company.
.......Those guys quitting when I was in orientation were correct.
.......Also , beware of a trucking company that has a very large banner and signs that say, " We Love Our Drivers" .....you can see this when you drive into the Mcleod express terminal.......you know what you in for.

I posted this thread to inform drivers about this company........if you are truly a driver you would give other drivers some useful info......instead of showing pictures of your drunk and stupid wisconsin cows!!! {wisconsin women]
