I got put into one of these new 2011 trucks with that new qualcomm system. them truck has a front mounted video camera rumple strip speaker system is what they say it is but found out it will take a one mile video and then stream it back to the company.
the problem i am having is i talk to my wife every night, and sometimes when the company screws me over for the day you know ya kind of rant to her about it, get if off of you mind type of thing! Then ya get called into the office to talk to some safety manager and he pops out with a question and a scenario and how you feel about it. Well this has happened more then once!!! So this last time i set up a thing with my wife on my last restart and my first day back on a fresh 70 i called her that night and said what i was said i would say and then let it ride out and sure enough they took the bait!!!!!!
now i don't give a rats ### what they do with there trucks but when i talk to my wife on MY PHONE that is PRIVATE!!!!!!!! and i don't give a flying frack what any excuse they give and yes i know it is there dam truck
but my conversation with my wife is ours and private!!!

so just how are thies little rat ### pricks doing this?? this new 200 ser. cualcomm?? that dam thing does everything elog and all that bluetooth capable too

this is just too dam cold peranoid my wife said she could not believe a company would do this and so did i but when they took are bait dam that was a big fish! but how are they doing it i have been looking that truck over and over dam near loosing sleep over it so now what to talk to my wife i got to leave the dam truck now???

Did some other driver tell you that?

I been all over the Qualcomm series 200 webpages and have not found anything as you describe. It does record truck incidents like hard braking and other critical issues from 5 minutes before to 2 minutes after an accident. It does have a one way video conference where the company can send you training video's. It also has GPS, wifi, email and numerous other features. But a video camera and a microphone it does not have as far as what I researched. I would think that would be invasion of privacy anyways. If they did have it like airlines have ####pit recording it could be possible, but the company could not abuse the system on your off time. Lets say it did and your safety guy was eavesdropping, then contact the operations supervisor and let him know what the pervert is doing.

Maybe I missed it, but take a look for yourself. Features are in the left menu.

"Ive heard" drivers say some companies are putting video cameras in their trucks. This is the first ive heard of microphones. I personally whould have a huge problem with it. If you didnt sign something letting you know they were doing this, you could own this company with no problem.

Any speaker can be used as a microphone. Our system records sudden deceleration events every time you sneeze! It did this to me once when I started the engine.

Ever noticed that Safety Managers never address safety issues anymore? You could have every brake on the truck cammed over and they worry more about your "Sudden Acceleration" event when you were bobtailing across some yard and went over a speed bump.

I went all day yesterday and my Peoplenet couldn't get a GPS fix....GPS fix, that sounds like they need to drug screen my "Peepeenet" system.

Where do these things come from, 1st, this driver is in a truck and has no idea of what the features are and what is installed, that makes me think he knows nothing else about his truck. 2nd, in order for a company to do what he claims is happining,he would have signed paperwork and watched a video on how it works and how to operate it. 3rd " QUIT SMOKING CRACK AND YOU WONT GET SO TWEEKED OUT.''

I think it is great that they have them. If you are stressed they can see the problem and try to fix it because you wont go to them to fix it. For trainers/mentors it will keep them honest and not screw over newbies.
