my story with Swift trucking, very bad.

4 years ago I wanted to be a truck driver because I love traveling and I thought why not I heard they make very good money, I went to trucking school I paid for my CDL $3500 they said I will get my CDL in 16 days but I got it in 22 days due to the truck broke down, not big deal, after I got my cdl they helped me get a job NOT!!, I was searching and calling after 2 months Swift said will take u, oh good NOT!!, the orientation went good except I had no clue what they were taking about, they had me jump in with trainer from Kazakhstan his name is Lutfallah ....something "STAY AWAY FROM HIM" he has been in the US for over 12 years at that time I could not understand the guy, well we start driving and man let me tel you I drove every minute of the 11 hours every day I had hard time to sleep cuz the truck was moving 24/7, I could not quit I had to take it like a man, the guy was very rude yelling at me but I didn't know what he was trying to say!! so all the time was just driving I said to the guy I need to learn more then driving, I need to know more about log book and how you adjust trailer weights, and what to do when I go on my won, cuz everything was done very fast he pick up or drop and run to his truck to get back on the road, the guy said "I don't have time to tech you everything but u can see what I'm doing and learn and also my English is not that good so it's hard for me to explain sometimes also I'm not here to set and teach I'm here to work & make money" sounds rude and I swear that's what he said, I wasn't happy with Lutfallah and the only thing I learned from him that his father was a great man and if his father says something it has to be right!! I was very miserable but I can't give up that fast, I stayed with him for 3 long weeks, he said I know every trick in the book (talking about cheating on the log book) I said well teach me! he said NO I can't cuz I will get fired, oh ok I don't wnat u fired #######, so one time he ran out of hours and I was about too and we were on are why for delivery, man that guy should not drive even a car, we were in California that guy was telling me speed speed slow a little go now speed!! cuz we r running out late & out of hours and he want to make the delivery, it's ok if we die tho!! well I told him I'm going to run out of hours in soon, NO NO he said u still have 1 hour and 45 mints!! I said I'm sure my 11 going to be up in 45 mints, he is yelling don't argue with me, I said please stop yelling at me (I had it) if you keep yelling I won't be able to drive I'm gonna have to pull over, NO NO he said OK lets stop talking. k good. now I know I'm over my 11 already and still have about 20 minutes to get to our well respected customer, well we are here backed up and he ran like crazy to give them the paperwork, I was doing my log book I found out I'm 45 minutes over my time, I said that to him, he said give me your log book, and deleted what I was doing and he did it his way! I said wait we are out of Lathrop CA terminal and the time now is 3pm not 2pm in lathrop ca, he said don't argue with me. NO I said I will cuz your wrong and if u don't explain I will call the company, he went few feets and set and put his hands on his head, came back and told me that he had to do this!? ok I said so why would u let me drive over my time? again he left then came back (the story changed) he was smiling saying you don't know much about trucking and u just got confused!! I said no I'm not I know Lathrop CA time now 3pm we are on pacific time zone* and your confused not me, he got mad and start yelling saying that I argue too much, well I call the company and explain to them what just happened and I need them to help me. the DM was nice he said the trainer is wrong, and we will call him, I said I need to go to the terminal now I want other trainer. the DM said OK and they did, my new Trainer was from Washington state coy husky he was very nice and I learned lots from him he saved my life, but I'm done with my 6 weeks of training but we are stuck in NY and they got us to Lathrop CA after I was on the truck for 8 weeks, well I got my truck now and I'm FINALLY SOLO, I got on the road and I did just fine the first week I mad $280 I unloaded dollar general trailer the first load, way to go Swift, I asked my DM 2 months in advance I wanna be home on the Christmas and he keep saying sure no problem, I gave him to many notes just to be sure, I really didn't care about other home times I only want the Christmas, on the night of Dec 24th I was in Colorado and they gave me a load going to Arizona, I called in my DM was home and the guy on the shift wasn't nice, I said is this load gonna get me close to home or what's going on? he said no, your not going home, I was mad and I told him I must go home for Christmas he said your not the only one here most of the drivers won't be home. I told him & I swore if they don't get me home NOW I'm leaving the truck right here and I'm getting rental car, I gave him few mints my DM called said what happened? I told him oh nothing I have been telling you over and over I want to be home for this and u said ok and I got rental car I'm going home and the keys will be in the truck good bey. I hung up. he called & I didn't answer send msges on Qualcom I didn't answer tel he said ok drop this load and go take other trailer going to Lathrop CA, and I did and drove about 17 hours straight to CA my wife was at the terminal waiting for me I got all my crap out the truck and I quit and went home feeling like free man, I got better job few weeks after paying 38 CPM instead of 27 cpm w swift. THE END OF SWIFT.
I know some of u might say driving 17 hours is wrong, and I agree it was wrong and very bad and I was lucky to get home with no problems but swift won't listen unless all the drivers stop listening to them. I'm working for them but no a slave. so I quit because not making any money no home time no respect NOTHING, I was very happy with my 2nd job NOT!! well it was ok but way better then swift and I stay with them for first year I mad about $42,000.
