I'm equally sorry that you had expectations that many people should swallow a report that you were forced to correct a shipping error by making a run in a span of 36 hours that would take 30 hours of driving time alone to complete, and that you were not paid for the trip. It never happened. |
| ||||
| YES! It happened! But you only believe what sounds comfortable to you in your narrow minded way. Not all people go thru life with blinders on. And being critical of something they know nothing about!! Go to work for Mav. Specialized, then come back and tell us about them, until such time you are not worthy of critism of someone who has! |
| ||||
| If Maverick sucks so bad, and you actually did move onto another company WHY are you still advertising for them thru your avatar??????????????????? More things that make a sane person go hmmmmmmmmm.

I have no doubt that what actually happened to you was bad enough for you to seek a job elsewhere. But it wasn't bad enough to justify repetive posts containing outrageous claims that are geared toward an attempt to ruin the reputation of a company, and accuse them of things that simply did not occur. And that's all I am seeing here in what you write. There are at least three other posts, by three other people, that are believeable and appear on target, and outline negative issues that make PERFECT sense. Quote:

I can kinda see why tbird318 may have done this, since he had applied his name on the side of the truck he was driving, and snapped a photo of it at some point. I've looked at that and wondered if that was allowed by Maverick, because at one time they were rather picky about the looks of their equipment. There is a steel mill in Cartersville, Georgia that I hauled out of for two years, between 2001 and 2003. I had ample opportunity to speak to a few of their drivers a day, while we were patiently waited our turn to get loaded. I honestly cannot ever remember talking to a driver that was fed up with them. I also got to see a few of their drivers get injured, one of the things that led me to put my flatbed up for sale when that contract ended. |

| I've known Tbird all of his life. He is as creditable as they come. He learned good family values over his 26 yrs. of life. Raised in a good Christian atmosphere, and is as professional as, or more than most of the drivers in todays society. The man has been in trucks litterly all of his life, so he knows a thing or two about how trucking should be. It's sad that companies take advantage of young people that are trying to make a break into this industry this day in time. I salute him in his bold straight forwardness in blowing the whistle on such a company that once had a reputation of being a leader in the industry, however it seems with the purchase of Punkin spec. those standards have been compromised. I have personally witnessed the equipment first hand, it's some of the most dangerous junk I've EVER seen.Yet they force these drivers to operate this equipment. |

Blowing the whistle is fine. Blowing things out of proportion is not, as your son has apparently done, and THAT was when I decided to jump in, and decided that it had gone too far. Quote:
EVERY company that buys another, has a transition phase in which outdated equipment is worked out as they can replace it. I doubt that the trucks are that bad, but the trailers probably are, for whatever reason. Trailer sales are through the roof, and everyone has to stand in line these days and will get their ordered equipment as it is manufactured. I think it's very apparent that Maverick Specialized is not a place where people should be landing at the moment, but given enough time and benefit of the doubt, and due to Maverick Transportation's reputation on the streets, at least most of the problems that are occuring now will eventually work themselves out. Then again, THEY may sell it off or abandon the hauls altogether at some point. They will probably have to clean house of a couple of people in charge of the specialized division, because there most certainly are some complaints about more than one in charge of it that are true enough. The pay differences do not make sense to me, and that has been a clear charge also not under challenge. One member of this site was caught up in the transition just weeks after starting with Schneider, and he left almost immediately, and over a clear difference in pay. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. The facts were bad enough on their own merit. Taking them up a few steps to make them sound much worse, and only hurts one's testimony. I think that between the two of you, your feelings about the company have been expressed in two sections of the site, and there is little doubt where you both stand in regard to Maverick Specialized. There's no more need to tag team this issue any longer. I welcome you both to the site, and encourage you to join in on more pleasant conversations and topics, if you are interested in doing so. I do request however, that no more posts of the type that I have witnessed and deleted, will be forthcoming every time someone offers a post on the company. Trust me...they'll find this thread as well as the other on their own, and your side of things will be read. |

| Final thought I'm sure this is not your final thought but for me it is! I have better things in life than to argue with anyone over a worthless company! As for you I'm not sure. Maybe your life is empty except for a computer. Reminds me of a sign I saw once that stated. "Arguing with a truck driver is like mud wrestling with a pig, after a while you realize that's all he does". Please feel free to have the last say, as expected, you've heard mine. |

Maverick indeed held an ISS-2 (Now ISS-D) of 93 prior to them merging all of their companies under Maverick Transportation at the start of this year. This had been the case for sometime it appears. And given the time that you took to break down each category, and factor out the compliance review that TMC has had twice, the companies are in fact comparable when it comes to their safety numbers. I am baffled as to why the FMCSA recalculated Transportation's numbers with the folding in of the rest of the fleet, because that makes no sense, for obvious reasons. When Swift has purchased several companies and folded them in, I didn't see them benefit in similar manners. But then, I can't recall if any of those companies had outstanding figures either. So, I offer my humble apologies, and I learned a thing or two. I also think that due to the way that the FMCSA now calculates the ISS-D number for entry level motor carriers, along with the changes that took place this past month, they closed a loophole that several companies have been exploiting to avoid detection when their safety numbers get way too high. I do know several companies that simply killed a company and registered as a new company under a new name, and repeated this as needed to keep the FMCSA at bay. That will no longer work like it used to, because now every new company will have to drive that ISS-D number DOWN from a high level as their history develops, rather than the other way around. |
