I live here in Phoenix, AZ, and on Craigslist, and other locations, this HDS/DSW company keeps having ads, but the ads don't say that it is them, just a toll free phone. It seems that they are desperately bombarding this area for drivers, and from one person who drove for Digby Southwest otherwise known as DSW, their experience was very poor. Has anyone worked for DSW, and if so, can you discuss your experience with the company? It seems that they are trying hard not to show who they are in the ads, and yet list multiple phones, and after calling a few ads with different phone numbers, the calls all end up back with DSW. It makes you wonder what is going on when they don't want to list the company name and keep throwing out ads using different phone numbers.
    Thanks for any info.

DSW? You mean Swift JR. !!!!!

DSW does not have CSR or planning or much of anything of their own...they lease onto Swift and are no different than a Swift L/O!

Do you want to drive for Swift....driving for DSW you basically are!

It seems that most of the posters on Phoenix Craigslist needing
drivers like to stay annonymous.......wonder why?

A lot of the ads on CL are anonymous. Even the ones for laborers. I even see ER and operating room nurses on it. You just have to take your chances when looking at CL and be extremely cautious when clicking around in there!

I have seen different ads for the same compzny depending on which recruiter posts. I do enjoy seeing those that promise $40,000 and up for company, L/P and O/O!
Several of the ones I keep seeing are actually for head hunter offices. You know the websites with a few hundred companies they post for.

Take everything you see on CL with a grain of salt as this is "the Wild World of Weird" Just be careful of anything. Research when you can!

JBH does the same thing here in the NW. They are paying .32 a mile for the same ded run other outfits pay $18 a hour for. And the hourly outfits don't make you go to east-gate 1,100+ miles away for orientation on a local gig.

For everyone who replied, thanks for all the good words of advice! Yep, DSW was just what I thought it would be, Swift cleverly disguised! I did get a break and spoke with a driver who worked for DSW a while back. They don't maintain their tractors at all well, send them out and have the driver keep repairing them on the road, of course, at Swift facilities that can take days to get repairs done. I could not look up their SMS data for DOT number 550072 as the website is down, but I would bet their CSA data is terrible. DSW also tries to pick up a lot of Swift loads that are in jeopardy and run them, which may account for the fact that they are constantly looking for drivers here in Arizona. Best guess is that they hide behind the many ads that they run on CL so they can try to rook as many of the desperate or gullible into driving for them.

Thanks for the advisory on CL listings. I had a few interesting moments talking with some owner ops who wanted team or or someone to jump on their trucks to give them a break, but when it got to the point of pay, contracts, etc, boy, you would have tough times ever getting any of them to commit to something in writing, just in case they decided to stiff you and small claims was the only recourse left.

So, stay far way from the likes of DSW, because I am sure that they have burned out their driver pool here in Arizona and are desperately beating the bushes to find new drivers every day. And, folks, keep the rubber side down and the rpms up! Stay safe out there~ PhxDzrtMarine85

PS This time 20 years ago saw me finally coming back to the US after an extended vacation with the Corps in the Saudi and Kuwait sandbox. You think Phoenix is bad, compared to places alongside the Persian Gulf, this place is darned near freezing!

Semper fi, and honor those who gave their last full measure of devotion for the liberties and freedoms that are presently still in the world! They are the true heroes, not us dumb bunnies who just got luckier and came home. Honor them, and honor our Republic!

I don't know if it's the same? I started out with Digby out of Lavergne, TN. His brother had the Navajo division in AZ. Digby sold out in the early 2000's to Celadon I think?

He probably started back up in AZ. If it's one of the Digby brothers, then yes, watch out. I bet it is.

The trucking industry sucks and is getting worse year after year. This is one of the most government over regulated industries where the drivers are widely exploited. I would tell anyone thinking about trucking to run and don't look back. These instructors and recruiters lie and promise you the moon, but once you get into it the smoke and mirrors disappear and than you realize your in a deadend job where your neck is always being put on the line to meet ridiculous deadlines. The pay is a joke and the hours you put in are insane. You will work among a bunch of low lifes that are rude nasty and disrespectful. Not to mention how a lot of truckers are a bunch of obese slobs.Being a trucker today is just a step above being homeless and living under a bridge. So anyone thinking about being a trucker listen to your parents go to school and get a real job.

The story I heard was that the guy who owns DSW married into the Digby family, then got divorced and kicked out. But, you know how stories are out here, so take it with a grain of salt, unless you really believe the Mormon church owns every trucking company out there.
Can't really tell you a whole lot about them. They were there when I worked for Swift, seemed to pull mostly reefers, and their drivers tended to be some pompous #####. They were quick to shake their heads and say, "Swift drivers", yet could never explain how one of their "veterans" managed to back into my truck in a place where I had several empty parking spots to either side of me, and there was enough room to maneuver a freight train.
