Just why does it take a large company (Werner) 5+ days to assign a truck? I switched accounts and was told to drop my FD account truck at 8am sharp on Wed morning. So I'm there in Allentown, 8am sharp. I have five other drivers in front of me waiting on a truck. Fine, I live two hours away. So I came home and have been calling every single day since and still nothing. Maybe this afternoon, at best. I'm not going to sit up there with little cash when I can sit here with food, etc. I'm thinking of showing up tomorrow morning and telling them truck or quit. I made more money working out of the kitchen. WTF?

Now I've been on hold for over 15 minutes, waiting on driver placement so I can tell them I'm still waiting. This is messed up.

sounds like they have more driver assests than they have tractor assests.

Dude, they are LOADED with new trucks at the other terminals. Sure, not where I am but still....

Wish I could get a home job but they want more experience than the 6 months that I have.

Don't they call Werner "The Big Blue Screw"?

I know my last company had about 500 "new" trucks on the lot. However they weren't registered yet. They were in the plans to be released when older trucks got retired/sold. However they weren't on the books so we could manipulate the OR numbers to make things look better or worse depedning on the current motivations. Lot's of trucks doesn't always equal lot's of trucks.

I don't want to go all ballistic on the company, but I'm kind of going all ballistic on the company. I don't hate it (being a driver) but it seems like everything has been working against me since I started. Crazy.

It's cheaper for them to have a driver wait on a truck than a truck wait on a driver. That's just the mentality of these bottom feeders.

Tell them truck, or you sign up for unemployment!
