I worked for Gemini for about 8 months. They have a lot of rules and they should considering what they haul. The pay was good and so were the benefits and equipment. My problems were that the regional managers will spy on you when you are unloading. Anything they can find, they will use it to put you on probation thereby knocking you out of any bonuses. I do mean ANYTHING!! I was lucky and did not have any issues and I quit last year. I gave them a 2 week notice and everything. I still have all kinds of problems getting someone there to fill out work info for any new jobs I apply to. I just applied to a company and Gemini told them I never worked there!! Go figure, I have check stubs and W-2 statements showing otherwise. Most of the office personell are idiots and have a bad attitude towards drivers. When you call anyone at the corporate office you are being recorded which they will use against you. If they got truck drivers to manage truck drivers, I think it would be a lot better. They have that "WE ARE THE GREATEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR ATTITUDE" and they get pissed when you quit and they don't have anything bad to put on your work record so just watch yourself with those morons.

    That sucks man.

I just recently got hired on with Gemini in Oregon and so far I really enjoy it. I have a really good regional manager who understands what drivers have to deal with every day. So far I think its a good job only thing that stinks is dispatch. I haven't had to deal with anyone at the corporate office though.

Good luck with getting on at which ever company your applying for : )

Thanks. Do you have the same problems there that we had in Amarillo, like being dispatched on 15 hours of work but you have to get it done in 12 hours so the next driver can get in the truck? The dispatchers will get upset if you turn back loads to get the truck back on time and they like to call your regional manager and try to get you into trouble. One time I had 5.5 hours left to run the next day. I called dispatch the day before two different times and told them how many hours I would have the next day, they still dispatched me on 2 loads from Amarillo TX to Tucumcari, NM and a local. I ran 1 Tucumcari and turned back the rest and the dispatcher called my regional manager and he called me and tried to chew my butt. It's just a mess over there in corporate. The regional manager we had has been transferred and the one they have now seems to be a lot better. That last one was spineless. Good luck with your job. I know they generally have people standing in line for other areas but they can't keep drivers here in Amarillo.

I've been with them for a couple months now and still like it hehe. I understand your issues with dispatch. Those guys are terrible. They don't listen to the drivers and one of them keeps trying to make up fake rules. For example our tanks were full and store was dead so i called to see if I could get my load taken off of me. Well according to him there is a rule that drivers are not allowed only work a partial day lol.

I was warned by my regional and my lead driver about dispatch before I got hired and they told me if I can put up with them then its good job. I can see how some people just can't put up with those jerks at dispatch and hopefully I will continue to be able to deal with their nonsense.

And yeah dispatch doesn't believe that adverse weather and having to chain affects your travel time so they will still try to dispatch you out to a load that normally takes 8 hours when you only have about that much time left before your out of hours.

So did you get the job you were apping for? Hope ya did. Good luck bud and take care out there.

you are right this company is to big for there britches (in there mind) they have gone to a central dispatch and those flatlanders in o.k.c. dont have a clue what we deal with in the rocky mountains pulling a 105k lb. bomb they think u can get through a snow storm and make your delivery in the same amount of time they could do it in there car on good roads all they care about is keeping there stores from running out and will risk human life to do it, as far as pay it could b good if you are one off the managers brown nossers but for most it is worse then you could make delivering toilet paper the only advantage is they get you home every day I'm currently searching for a better position. I caution anyone who is considering working for this company they jump over dollars to pick up pennies all the time and will put you at risk to do so they also tell you how safety conscious they are and the qualifications to drive for the company are a minimium of two years but they are putting rookies fresh out of school behind the wheel of there trucks,so I guess its not who u know but who you #$ow around here

I agree about dispatch but have to disagree with the comment about being who you #$ow around here. I was a new driver when hired on with Gemini. I've had no incidents in the 8 months of being with them unlike the "seasoned" drive I follow who is always messing things up on the truck like a 20 foot scratch down the tanker from hitting a fence, broken mud flaps from backing into stuff and the list goes on. Point is that because someone is a new driver doesn't make them an idiot nor does it make the irresponsible.

Where in the post you are responding to does it say a new driver is a idiot or irresponsible? It simply states that the company touts a 2 year requirement for hiring and then hires fresh meat off the street.

I commend you on your driving record, but you failed reading comprehension.

They are 6 Love`s travel centers in Ala. and #7 to open up on the new I-22 soon, do they have a terminal in Alabama?
Do they haul gas to other stations or just for Love`s only?

I don't believe there is a terminal in Alabama. Gemini doesn't really use terminals as a "home base". Often times the trucks are parked at one of the loves between shifts. Gemini only transports fuel to Love's locations. They used to transport to some other outfits but got out of that.
