Stay away from these guys. They reel you in pay you for the first trip on time, pay for fuel like they are suppose to then on the next trip they will leave you stuck somewhere waiting for fuel and then hold your checks and make excuses why they dont pay. Im still waiting for my last checks and there truck is parked down the street right now. They havent even called to ask for it back.

  3. Don't worry they will, and don't be surprised when the cops come to your door, and say they have a report of a stolen truck and trailer.

Just keep an eye out...good luck

If the truck is at his home or close to it then the abandonment can be fought. Go take some pictures of where it is and be sure the geo-tracking is on in the phone. Be sure to get the impound lot sign in the picture and a shot of the clean truck inside and out and the trailer and also tire wear the engine the windows and the interior in clean and good shape.

If you have satellite communications take a picture of the main screen showing the GPS location and any messages you send to him especially one telling him that you will be parking it in a secure location (the impound lot of so and so) because you the company refuse to pay my wages. Send it then take the pictures especially of the replies!

If you have to use cell phones then record the conservation. Yes tell him you are recording no matter what he says keep it going. HE has the decision to hang up or comply and talk.

I would actually find a wrecker company with a holding yard and ask them how much a day to park the truck there THEN pull up at their driveway and call your boss and tell him if you do not get a comm check or T Check number for whats owed you, the truck is going to be parked in the impound yard and you will file a lien on the truck and that you will tell them where it is AFTER the check clears. You are still a newbee but any bank can cash a comm check unless you have a truck stop close by

You'll hear some yelling and screaming and even threats of using the police but hey once it's in that yard the only thing that will get it out is a stack of cash OR a GOOD com check number!

I also hope you have copies of every piece of paper that crossed your fingers that is worth money! That is the BOL, lumper receipt, scale tickets, oil, light bulbs, repairs, or anything that you paid money or wrote a check to that you want your money back or want to be paid for. Make this what you will do till the day you stop driving!

Sometimes paper work can be lost BUT there are people and companies that will not want to pay you so it gets funny when a paper you knew 3was in an envelope can squeeze out of that trip pack and comit sucide! If you have a laptop with a scanner copy them that way and if something just dissappears then tell them you can email it from the truck or fax it from the truck or at the next truck stop and also inform them that you make copies of every piece of paper that crosses your fingers and those BFIs will stop trying to short you!

One last bit of info: Make it a habit to start handling your paper work the same way every day!

    Never:
put it folded up in a pocket. Hold it in your hand until you get back to the truck,
    put paper on the dash,
    above a sun visor,
    on the floor,
    on the bunk,
or a glove box (if trucks still have them)
    an over head cubby hole,
    in your map book.

Once back in the truck put it in the envelope that is going to be used to send it to the yard UNLESS they use the scanners from TripPack but it must always go into an envelope that then goes into a folder/notebook/logbook cover that you use for your daily work and where the BOL needs to be while en route with the load so it is easily found in case of accident, DOT scale requests or if it's a hazmat load.until the load is delivered then pull all of that trips papers out and scan them into a file in the lap[top and use either the date/load number/or your own system but do it the same way every day! Once you get a system set up you will not lose valuable paper!

If the company does not use Trip pack and doesn't supply you envelopes then get a pack of them from Wally World or any office supply place or at the truck stop and write on the outside of it in Sharpie on both sides of the envelope "CURRENT BOL" Then put your name and cell number in case IT takes a walk!

Once again another short story by me!
