Post Police reoprt numbers

That's pretty extreme. Over hours or not, I'm moving too a safe haven for my break. If it would cost me my job with a dumpy company so be it. Getting the police involved is a waste of everybody's time.

 

I read it somewhat wrong, but either way, I just find the thread odd.

 

Is there a full moon out? What a waste of bandwidth.

 

I understand it, he said... (drivers + operations x police reports) > (the police + operations ) = x (operations) = < for the corporations - i think.

 

I just woke up from nappy time, sorry. It sounded like he wanted to arrest a dispatcher on the road the first time I read it. I was, huh, lol?

If you know about OTR problems, means one ran OTR. I can't figure out the two fulltime job things because OTR is not a weekend gig. Confused!

 

I think his point is, that we are behind the wheel. If you do it don't blame dispatch. Shipper takes to long call the receiver, keep them up todate. If we as drivers keep your DMV, shipper, receiver up todate, a lot of problems go away. Stand up, it's your job, your life.

 

You are always "free" to exit the truck, and call a cab, or just walk away ...

As free as you are to "walk off" any job ... and yes, walking off many jobs will result in a "bad reference", and trouble finding future employment.

You are not being held against your will, that is a crock.

Sounds harsh? Well reading enough of this forum should show you what to expect from driving OTR - know what you are getting into.

 

This post was quite hysterical and utterly not connected to reality..How many of you over the years, run out of hours, pulled over in what you may have thought was a "safe, legal" parking area and been woken up by law enforcement and told to "move on".? When you advise said law enforcement officer (in my case the less than illustrious CHP and on one occasion, Nevada Highway Patrol) that you are OUT of legal driving time, they tell you "it's none of my concern-leave"..Although this doesn't/hasn't happened to me in a few years, it does happen on a regular basis. The police have NO knowledge of DOT regulations and it has been my experience they could care less.."Just move the #### truck"...

 

This has never happened to me. In fact, I have not even had a business representative tell me I have to leave a property when I was stopped for my mandatory breaks. I have not had my door knocked on ....nothing.

But then, again, I tend to plan my stops ahead of time. If I have to stop somewhere slightly unorthodox, like a mall or some such, I make sure I have permission to stay there.
