you were told by your FM you were fired? That's not normal procedure there. They usually call you into a terminal and safety gives you the bad news. You stated they are sti showing you as employed so I would check into that -
I've been turned away by almost a dozen companies in the last few days Because of this contract business. It doesn't help that I am fresh out of the training program so the ones that might overlook the contract say come back in three to six months. So, I'm applying for jobs like delivering a route for PepsiCo in my area while I get all of this sorted out. The citation I got fired over is easy to deal with...the contract is another beast entirely.

I thought if you quit or fired your contract needs to be paid off... I didn't know they keep you on contract but not paying you.

J2H...that's CRST for you. I was terminated on 11/21/14. As of yesterday, I was informed of not only being still under contract, but I apparently still show in their system as being an employee.
I don't mind paying it off, just let me work so I can. Hell, I don't even mind signing a new contract with someone else as long as they treat me right. I was ready to go to Celadon with 12 weeks of training and a 1 year contract.
I'm looking into legal avenues and I'm actually amazed and/Or amused at how many lawsuits there are against CRST ranging from sexual harassment to unfair wages. Sadly, I only just missed the one that could have gotten me out of my contract...lol -
Fatdaddy, I was surprised by getting that from the FM as well. I was told the day before that I was supposed to go to the OKC terminal to get my reprimand for the situation in question. Next morning I called safety and they said to speak to FM and that's when he broke the news that someone higher up had dropped the axe.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
I like CRST! Of course I come with "contract" experience! I'm a U.S. Veteran and know what "a contract" means! ..LOL!.. where else can a homeless person who is looking to restructure their life go, for housing, food, and a new career, in the civilian world!....I'm in my 4th month of my contract,.... CRST is keeping me very busy,(nice rig, driving-hard, 600plus mi per shift, GAINING "THE EXPERIENCE") and making money, paying my bills, all of which I couldn't do when I was homeless! I think CRST deserves a medal for pulling SOB's like me outta the trench!
