Bud, your pretty much stuck, sorry to tell you that. Unless as someone else suggested you can buy your contract out. And I figure if you can do that, you wouldn't be in a contract. Your gonna have to "gut" it out.

Get some BALLS bro. I don't mean that in a mean way. Tell them you are going to call the State's Attorney general in their state and the BBB and the Sheriff for breach of contract (if you can). There is one way to break a contract and it is SO not hard to do. Before you think about that though, think of this. You have three weeks in. My first three weeks were with a nutty trainer and I only backed up nine times in four weeks (BTW......do not switch to PAM trucking......beleive me), constantly yelling at his wife on the phone, wouldn't stop for showers, smoked in the sleeper and the whole truck was a pig sty. Then started out solo, didn't get many miles and then started to once I started to get pissed and CALMLY asserted myself on the phone and mentioned the scenario above. Things started getting better. Then, I was switched to a team (another contractual obligation) and the kid they put me with was another effing PIG. Farting, smoking in the sleeper, dirty underwear laying on his bed, no room for my stuff, ect. IT BLEW.........so I asked for a new partner (My temp license lapsed to, my fault) and it was two whole weeks in PA sitting, long story. HOWEVER, new partner is a peach, pay still sucks with PAM, but this is an apprenticeship bubb, you have to put in your time and let me give you a clue no one else will (I think one guy mentioned it above)......all these starter companies are the same......they BLOW. They could give a rats behind about you. Pay your dues, let the time slip away and find a happy place while you are being "tested" and when your year is done, off to the next better step. Once that second year is DONE you are HOME FREE. You can sign up for regional, teams, long runs, flat bed, hazmat, learn some heavy hauls or speciality hauling and one day about three years from now when you are running those 100 foot windmill blades all over the country for a buck twenty a mile, benefits and the winter off after you have made about seventy grand......the ##### you are going through now will be worth it. I have five more months with PAM and yes, they WERE not cool in the beginning, but the more I #####, the more I get. We just got tail piped sitting in Oklahoma, but the miles are getting much better, the truck is not breaking down and when June rolls down, I will be hitting up BarrNunn, or another place where the same problems will exist, but not on the level they are here at PAM. And when my second year is done, I will do Crete or Tyson or a week on the road, and weekends home. Hang in there dude. Its a small amount of time in the big picture.

Permits can get faxed to truck stops. The medical long form you do not need. The truck got fixed. You need training. What's the problem?

Sorry dude your stuck for 8 months only way out of that contract is to die even then CRST can come after your estate to collect. Ride it out finish your training find a team mate to run with be straight up odds are your current dispatcher wont be there long and whoem ever you team with may have a different dispatcher so you may be able to stay on there board. Good Luck

How is that desperate? I run Miami everyday and their freight is plentiful down there. So it would make sense to hire in a area you have freight.

DO NOT QUIT!!! Please take this from me, another person who is in the exact same situation you will find yourself in if you do. I signed the "here is my life" contract with CRST as well. My co-driver quit and I did as well since I don't trust just anyone to drive with my rear end in the bunk. The only job I could find that would forgive the contract hanging over me is running for a truck owner who has NEVER held a CDL in his life and only has what can be figured up with math on paper for experience. The equipment is crap and the pay is completely hit or miss, nowhere near what was agreed upon. On top of that I still owe them a few thousand dollars for the crapshoot school they sent me off to.

Keep your head screwed on straight and deal with the blows one at a time. There are a lot of nice, reasonable people that work with the company. If your FM is a tool, request a new one. Go over his head if you must, but get yourself back in a truck with a trainer and find someone to team with. Run your 8 months and then tuck tail and run, but not before. At this point I would love to go back to them just to finish out my contract but they won't take me back because of some infractions on my record acquired as a result of crappy equipment "maintained" by my current employer.

It is rough and I know it sucks, but stick it out.
