It appears to me that you are bitter about losing your previous job, pissed at the world. Now you want to jump into another profession and jump to the top making the same or more then you did, because you are you.

Well, welcome to the real world. When you enter into another profession, as a newbee, you start at the bottom. You choose this profession, and to go to CRST for training. No one else forced you to do these things.

If you are lucky enough to be able to cut the mustard and stick around long enough to move up the chain, you could make some money. But not starting out, it takes paying your dues.

If this is too difficuly for you, chock it up and leave. As you stated, you can make more money and be at home more often my working at mcdonalds. THEN DO SO.

I am so tired of listening to newbees who want it all dropped in their laps. Like they deserve it, and should not have to endure and work their way up the ladder.

As for the contract with CRST. YOU SIGNED IT NOW HOLD UP YOUR END OF THE BARGAN.

I agree with those of you who have said that its all about attitude and hard work. I work for CRST currently and I love it for the most part. Everyone complains that they don't keep up their end of the deal but it really all depends on you as a person. You can't complain that while you wait for a trainer, you're stuck with no way of making money. Guess what, darlin'! They will pay you $80 a day to drive one of the shuttles around. Its funny because everyone is made aware of that and yet the staff can't find anyone who wants to drive the shuttle. Instead you just find people who.want to ##### about the sympathy they're not getting.

As far as dispatchers go, I have never had a problem with them that I could not fix. My current dispatcher was my trainers dispatcher as well. We didn't get along well at first because he thought I was going to be like my trainer and ##### until I got my way. I had to make it clear to him that I would help him out as long as he helped me. And guess what? It works! Amazing concept, huh? I help him by idling a little less and he gets me 2500+ mile loads. I'm only in my third month and running between 5500-6000 mile weeks. Don't tell me the works not there.

And as far as ######## about trainers, I'm over it! I'm a female who was stuck with a very ignorant woman. She wanted me to break all sorts of laws, she called me a ###### constantly, and insulted me more than you can imagine. I taught myself what I needed to know with no help of her. Ive lived in Florida my whole life, have never seen snow or a mountain. My first time driving down a mountain was a 7% grade, in the snow, at.night, through a construction site and my trainer was in the back sleeping and told me not to wake her up for anything. I made it down just fine. So stop making all of these #### excuses for things that you can control!!

Grow some balls and suck it up. This experience is only what you make of it.

CRST all depends on your dispatch. i had a good one at start then another one came in and we lost miles alot of miles. He did no respect us therefor i ended up quiting when my contract was up. CRST does have very low pay Very bad miles. your best bet would be to pay ur contract off yourself and go somewhere else. Don't try to quit without paying it cuz CRST will say you never worked there for them. So that will just mess you over more and more. do your time and get it over with.

For missjyss 80bucks aday is not worth getting out of bed for me. Im on break down pay been here for 6days now in a hotel room. 80bucks your lucky if that feeds you out here for 1-2days.

Also if your running solo you still split your miles i did it for a week to return my truck to cedar raipids. At the last load was 60miles away and i didnt care i broke there HOS and left to drive truck back to cedar rapids cuz they where just messing with me taking there time on getting me back to the yard. did 7 other loads on way to cedar rapids from Chicgo il

$80 a day may not be much but I'd rather be working to.do what I can than ##### about how much my life sucks instead.

well i should be heading off to crst school in cedar rapids here in a couple of weeks. i have read the positive and the negative, only difference is i know its not gonna be easy, but i am my dads son and he was a truck driver for many years so i know i can do it. i have no bills, no debt, no children, no wife/girlfriend, so i think right now is a perfect time. i want to thank all who have posted here theres been tons of useful information, and if worse comes to worse i know i have a family here in florida that wont let me starve. so god willing, if this is what im supposed to do, i should be heading off to Iowa April 1st. Wish me luck!

My word of advice is: ONLY go with CRST if you only want to run teams and you'll be under contract with them for 8 months. The expedited side only runs teams. If you feel like you might want to run solo or don't mind running teams go to the dedicated services side of CRST or better yet just go with another company like swift or Schneider (way better). Check out drivecrst dot com and check out whether or not they are hiring in your area. I met a driver that did a dedicated run for CAT out of Florida and he did 7600 miles every week or week and a half. And was home almost every week. I tried to get on the dedicated side but they only had one truck running the UPS run out of Los Angeles. My year is almost up at CRST and I'm talking off in 8 days. Have fun there.

yea i dont mind the 8 month contract, i think its a good thing, nothing is free so why would i think that crst would just pay for my schooling and let me go. i dont mind putting in the time in exchange for crst giving me the chance to get my foot in the door.
