What company hired you while under contract with CRST?

Hey kid_cardiac, you said: I came out of a CDL mill and had to work out a contract (one year). .... Is that like Swift or (now that they purchased) Central Refrigerated? Is there more you can tell me about those companies or a cdl mill>?

Thanks, Im about to start training and want to keep my eyes open.

I am learning after 6 months with Crst, after talking to a lot of other drivers about other companies, that Crst is actually one of the better companies to be with. I have been treated very very good here. And from what I hear Schneider, swift, Werner, they are the #### companies. But my personal experience has been great with this company, they have me a fairly new truck, they give me a lot of miles most the time, and at .23 cents a mile I am still makeong about 500 a week, witch isn't that great but from what I hear its still a lot better then what most other students are getting with other companies. Anyway for those who want to start driving Crst is a great company to start with. They say don't look on Internet well yea that's because all the no good lazy ### new drivers wanna ##### all the time. If there was an option to go solo with Crst I would be staying with them after my contract is up. But you can't so that's the only reason I am leaving.

CRST knows they aren't going to try the lawsuit thing (against drivers). For one, it would cost them more than they would get even if they won the suit. Second, most student drivers don't have #### to begin with lol. I would assume the worst that could happen is it affecting your credit. And as for some of these supertruckers saying you're SHOL, they're full of #### themselves. Some of these guys get off on the fact that you're struggling. And nobody lies like a truck driver. Remember that when you're hearing a line of BS at a truck stop lol. Some of these fools don't realize that when you guys get paid #### wages that effects the rest of the industry. In instances like this #### rolls uphill lol. If students get paid slave wages then us more experienced drivers will get paid a wee bit more than slave wages.

So, on a related tangent, I am a student who was recently terminated from CRST but they say I am still under contract until it is paid in full. Does anyone have any advice for getting back on the road so I can pay that off and actually move forward in the industry? I don't mind paying it back, but I need to be able to make enough money to do so and still survive.

Companies don't hire while the driver is under contract and if they do,getting terminatated is another tarnish to your record,How much is left on your contract do you owe? Untill is it paid, you may have to settle for a non driving job.

I have 7 months left on the contract. But with CRST, I could have 48 hours left and they still want the full amount paid. When I spoke with the lady in contracts today, she said she would see about getting me back in to finish my contract, so we will see what happens. I am just trying to explore contingency plans in the event I am left in the position of having to pay that off.

All that said, I don't mind paying off my contract, I just want to be able to work so that I can take care of it.

They terminated the contract when they fired you! Here's my advice. Apply to many company's and don't tell them you're under contract.
