All I know is they don't hire newbies they only take on experienced drivers...I have yet to hear anything bad about them.

I can tell you from a mechanic's standpoint, they are not on top of their equipment. All they want is the tractor to pass DOT. Most drivers we see are unhappy and nasty! They have no APUs so in the summer, the drivers would sit in our lobby and sleep because they were not allowed to idle their trucks in risk of getting fired. Pretty sad really.

I drove for Barr-Nunn in 2002. They were my second company. They treat their drivers very well as far as quality tractors and trailers and my dispatcher was a peach. Their main terminal in Granger, Iowa is very nice and the people there are also very nice. I had a wonderful experience with them; however, I could not stand being away from my children and left Barr Nunn for a local job with Milan Express--which is a terrible company, unfortunately.

The other driver is correct--Barr-Nunn requires, i think 12-18 months OTR experience before they'll take you on. I definitely recommend Barr-Nunn and hope to go back to them in the near future.

    Good luck!
