The recruiters lie to you! The offer a sliding pay scale. They tell you as a company driver you make .39cpm but they don't tell you that they are on a pay scale. You have no choice to opt out of the per deim program which is .12cpm. Well my first paycheck had all my loads @ .15cpm. If you add .12cpm and .15cpm it doesn't equal .39cpm last time I checked. Then as a lease operator they tell you that you make .95cpm all miles loaded or empty. Well again they fail to tell you that you have to run 0-100 miles for .95cpm. Then they don't even take out taxes as a company employee! They tell you orientation is 3 days and it ends up being 5 days without pay! They pay for all 3 meals for 5 days but its a grocery store food court!! THEY DON'T ROAD TEST EVERYONE! OUT OF MY CLASS OF 16 ONLY 4 TOOK A ROAD TEST but TOM the safety guy that does orientation just signs off on the paper! They also tell you how much fuel to put in their truck and if you put more then they charge you for the excess fuel that you stuck in their truck! They have a poor safety rating of 99%. For every 14 people they push thru orientation 10 leave! They have an exstravagently(sp) high turnover rate! I am thankful that I left from these theives! Please make sure you do your research seriously!

I worked for this low life company for two months last year.I should have got up
and left as soon as i saw their terminal in East Dubuqe Il,but after I went thru
the long Greyhound ride to get there I figured might as well give them a shot. The
recruiter makes it sound like a good company and I did not see many bad threads
about them when i checked the net info.Looked to me like they had a scam going
leasing trucks to drivers who dont know any better. They cheated me out of over
$500.00 in the short time I drove for them as a company driver. The recruiter did
leave a lot unsaid about their company policies if she had been honest not many
people would show up for orientation. To any driver looking for another job you
will regret wasting your time on these scam artist,I guarantee it..

There's several threads on HML. I just got done reading an old thread when I was happy there. But they did a nose dive when they moved to E.Dubuque and lost all the good employees.

I can post 10 pages, but it's easier if you use the search feature and read the old threads.

1st clue to high turn over would have been 16 people in orientation.

one correction if I may, East Dubuque, IL. Sorry things didn't work out for you. Hope you find what you are looking for in your future endeavors. The OP does raise a good point, always research your companies before applying. There are goods and bads everywhere you go. Make sure you fully understand what you are getting into before signing on with a company, oh and remember the recruiter is paid to get you to go to his/her company.

I'm really not sure what I'm paid for, but if you want to learn about eLogs and so forth I am willing to give it a shot.

    First post? Welcome!

You can start your own company specific thread. Nobody will find that post hidden in another companies thread.
