DO NOT fall for the BS from this company. I worked for the Kansas City yard. They have a CONSTANT ad looking for drivers (bad sign) on Careerbuilder and Craigslist.

Their driver turnover rate is HIGH!!!

They tell you that you can be home every night and run a 250 mile radius and make good money hauling containers.

After I drove to Omaha for a day of indoctrination...things were a "little different" than they had told me.

Pay starts at .25cpm...BUT DON'T GET DISCOURAGED BY THAT...because you make your money in the "extras"

Shag pay, Rail yard pay, lift pay, tag axle pay, live load/unload pay...blah, blah, blah.

50-60 hours a week later...I'm lucky to bring home $500/week because all of the "extras" never seemed to qualify.

Loads going to the rail seemed to not get billed a lot, so you had to bring them back to the yard. You don't get the extra pay, the local driver does the next day.

    Live load/unload pay...only if it's within 200 miles (wtf?)...and guess what? they were all 210 miles +

After NUMEROUS discussions with my dispatcher (who quit shortly after I did) about long hours and crappy pay, I told him via Peoplenet..."DO NOT dispatch me again until we talk"

He ignored it, threw me another crappy load and went home for the day.

I finished my run and brought my truck back to the yard and cleaned it out, and emailed my resignation to him (that's the only way he responded half the time).

NOW a year later...of course they have on my DAC that I quit under dispatch. I've disputed it.

It's not that big of deal because all of my other info on my DAC is clean so it's a blip...but it's aggrivating as hell!!

If I can save another driver from their BS, it's worth it to me.

Most of the large carriers have advertisements in papers and online year-round, the turnover rate is high industry wide. Not just because of bad companies, but many people can't handle the lifestyle.

But the other issues you listed are concerning though; never even heard of "tag axle pay" before. Definitely sounds like a company to avoid.

.25 cents a mile is just extremely brutal. I seriously made that in 1989. That should be a huge glowing red flag to anyone who ever applies. I can't even imagine they are in business , yet I see them all over the place. No shortage of Drivers who will do anything to not drive OTR I guess. I am just shocked really I had no idea.

I appreciate you spreading the word about them. No amount of bonus talk should ever make a driver sign up for 25 cents a mile but then again I havent heard the speech. I seriously considered calling them once and now am very glad I never gave them the time of day. What a low down company , completely unacceptable pay.

I worked for them in 2007 and I honestly liked driving for them. I was getting good pay and great home time until some of the local drop yards in KC changed their hours. If things were the way they were when I started there, I would drive for them again in a heartbeat.
